The Waldorf Blofeld is perhaps the deepest synth in terms of this whole dub techno movement ... somehow the software just does not cut it .. in terms of shape, tone, detailing and fidelity ... Add a Strymon type reverb and your flying

nice tutorial! experimenting with distortion and other effects is highly recommended, as the classic dub chords are very overused nowadays

Dope video, was just listening to some dubby techno house artist like per hammar and u should check him out. This tutorial gave me some vibes from one of his song called double brew. I think this new videos u are making with Ableton stock plugins can be so exciting and see how powerful this daw is, it would be cool for a video if u teach us how u making the background ambience and some glitches like u have in this track and in a future u can make a start to finish series of minimal house etc
@Durosai
@Durosai 4 жыл бұрын
haha yesss per hammer is the shit! Double brew is actually one of my fav tracks by him. The dub chord in that track was honestly a big inspiration. And thats a good idea for the glitches/ambience and for the minimal house sereis, thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks again for a great video. I really appreciate these patch videos as I am not very experienced with sound design. I followed your chain exactly (I think) but after boosting the output on the compressors my channel clips very hard. Why is this? It would be very helpful if you provided us with a DL of your chain as well!!
@tommycarba
@tommycarba 4 жыл бұрын
It happens exactly the same to me. The chain saturates very hard, and doesn't sound like that either

Hey man, hope you can help me. When I drag LFO onto any instrument, I can't actually change any parameters. Its really confusing because all the tutorials, people just drag their LFO onto an instrument and they can edit the parameters instantly.
@truegamer2097
@truegamer2097 2 жыл бұрын
this might be a bit late, but where the LFO plugin says "F1 Freq" actually says "Map" before you assign what the LFO controls. a bonus tip is that depending on which version of LFO you are using (I'm using the CV LFO from Ableton 11), you can map the LFO to multiple different parameters. hope this helps.

some one told me that dub chrods should be always mono, idk if that statement is true or not, just some thoughts
@iagoazevedo2942
@iagoazevedo2942 3 жыл бұрын
I really think that absolutely nothing should be always something, when it comes to music creation. Instead, you gotta think about contrast. Your stereo elements only will appear stereo if there is mono elements and vice versa. Also there's the monocompatibily thing, that you always gotta think about.

Theres never any absolutes in music, so its really just whatever sounds better. Play around with mono vs stereo and see which you like better! I think it will depend on the tonal characteristics of your dub chord, which octave youre in and its relation to the other elements in the track. If you have a very minimal arrangement, stereo will probably sound better since it can utilize the amount of the space in the track.
