I remember my mother and grandmother having that bowl on he table with that butter in it germs rom temperature. Mixing all of the ingredients by hand. That was some of the best cakes in the world. Especially those Pound Cakes.

It is12:15 at night, I am watching you make this cake. I am 72yrs old a widow that lives in an apt. with the Holy Spirit inside, and God watching me from Heaven and Jesus Christ at His side talking about me, so I am not alone. I love watching all you great cooks cooking ! It is good company . Most of the time I know how to cook it but I thank God that I don't have to regularly. Yes ma'am #Mrs.MaeMae you did this cake wonders !! That's how I was raised & taught to cook/bake, with love and from the heart & soul. I recently just lost my mother the weekend before July 4th and every year when my b-day rolls around (September 20th) momma always ask me : 'Baby girl what do you want momma to get you for your birthday' I'd just smile big and tell her: my momma's cake :)) So nxt month when my b-day comes I knw momma will be baking my b-day frm heaven & I'll be making this chocolate pound cake for my b-day in honor of my momma. We had a bad tornado come close to us. We were lucky to just get tree and minor property damage. We can always use more prayers - both sending and receiving. Bless those who suffered much more than us. I can't wait to try this recipe - usually have all the ingredients on hand. Thanks❤

Yes Miss MaeMae, we all should be praying I do believe its the beginning of the end...With this covid going on and the people not having power and probably no water to be able to stay home and out of arms way...I Pray for us all..❤ Also I asked for all the Prayer I can get back in june my Fiance of 14 year's at the age of 52 had a massive stroke a blood clot in his main artey in the part that effects your speach having the stroke while riding his bike cycle he fell hitting his head so hard that Thursday june 11th he had to be rushed to emergency surgery At Wvu Reyonalds hospital in West Virginia because his brain was swelling and they had to remove what they called his bone flap to release pressure he spent 14 days on a vent was making breaths on. His own the last 2 of them days but wasn't strong enough so now for me to give him a fighting chance I had to tell them its OK do the trek. It's been 2 months now and being with someone for 14 years everyday in love and head of heals for each other I'm so lost and lonely I cry everyday for my Luther because everything I do in my life reminds me of something or what we would do together, Its really bad now that he had to go into s nursing home and now I can't go see him for who knows how long.. What I miss the most is his voice telling me he loves me so much and that I'm his everything and the littlest things that he'd annoy with And his big warm safe big bearly hugs So if you would I need all the prayer I can get for him I believe in jesus I know miracles can and do happen So if you could I greatly and I would forever be appreciative xoxo Miss MaeMae we love u too

That looks delish ! I could just jump right in and get a piece. Do you spray your pan or rub shortening on it before you put the batter in it? I have the worst time getting my cakes out of the pan without them tearing up. It is so frustrating. I just cover up the cracks with icing so no one but me knows it is what I call "a crack cake". I use an aluminum pan just like yours. Tell me your secret. Much love and blessings to you and Tuck.
