And the way your little guy in the green shirt ate his faausi ... that’s exactly how I eat mine. Take a little bite, swirl it in the sauce... take another bite, swirl it in the sauce... 😂 I thought I was the only one who ate my faausi like that! And yes, gotta eat it with your fingers! 🥰

That looks amazing! Especially the siamu popo (coconut caramel sauce) ... the sauce can easily make or break any faausi talo recipe. Your sauce looked perfect! Never thought to add the flour as a sauce thickener, thanks for that tip! Great job! And thank you for sharing this!

You don’t have to add flour in the sauce that’s the right way of doing it. Back home just Hot Rocks and sugar and fresh coconut milk for the sauce. But some people have their own ways of doing it. 🤙🏽

Do you use water or coconut cream to mix the taro ? or it’s up to the person? When I was young I always see my parents mix the grated taro with the pe’epe’e👍💛

I love talo fa'ausi too. I grew up on the stuff. Not too much of it because it's HIGH in calories (very fattening). There has to be a better way of displaying talo fa'ausi then in that bowl. It kind of looks like dog food. lol
