Whenever you say, "I don't wanna bore you..." when you're doing the layering, all I can think is, "Im not bored. I could watch you do this for hours." It's so relaxing to watch you create the layers. And each layer that gets created is like its own beautiful work of art. 💜💙

I have done this with copy paper not napkin or tissue. I use the fabric paper for reinforcing spines and for hidden spines. Adding the paper stops the fabric overstretching but it remains flexible. You should try it. Thank you for your video.

I’m not sure how I will sell my creations but I needed something that I could make and sell just a few crafts here and there. I’m at risk of becoming homeless at the moment due to lack of not enough income. Your video has given me for starters a new craft and I love the boxes I have no sewing machine. That would make the wallet. But the boxes and the bowls are amazing. I got this, and I know they will all be different and the Elmer’s glue and the tissue paper and the napkins can all be purchased at the dollar tree and 99 cent only store and the fabric well there is all kinds of fabric everywhere that is sold now and even fabric is sold in pieces at the dollar tree and 99 cent only maybe.. and Walmart fabric sewing area. Thank you for showing us how to make these crafts! So much…

I’m new here. I’m loving you avoiding the plastics. As well as the bowls and the other projects. Question for you. Have you any idea what sort of alternatives there might be to using PVA glue? Do you think using rice glue, or cornflour glue or some other alternative would work? I’m itching to find a more sustainable glue for my craft projects.

The problem with rice or corn starch is that spores can grow which off-gas leaving little bumps or bubbles. This eventuallt rots the paper and can cause " foxing" or mildew. There may be a cure or preservative used by the wallpaper industry but I'm not sure if they still make it.

I just had a brain wave: instead of using ordinary fabric for your bowl, why not try t’shirting or other stretchy fabric. Stretch it over the bowl and tie the ends like a ponytail, tuck the knot inside the bowl and turn the whole thing upside down. Now coat the stretch fabric thoroughly with your glue and let it dry to get rid of the fabric “memory”. Then you’re ready to use your papers. Let me know if it works… although I’m fairly sure it will 😘❣️🌹 PS: you’ll still need something under the stretch fabric to stop it from sticking to your bowl… or use a silicone bowl!
@CraftyPattiArtsCrafts Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your brain wave. Always lots of different ways to get the job done.

A lot of packing tape is plastic. You don't need fabric for the bowl. For the box, put the final layers of paper on after you bend it. Fabric industry is the largest contributors of pollution. If you are being careful about plastic, then you might want to thrift fabrics instead of buying anything new. Even using fabric from old sheets or clothing can give a new life and keep things out of the landfills

Thanks for your comment. A bit of a surprise as I always get such positive feedback. Not sure if you have ever published a detailed long video before. If you have not then keep in mind that when you are making videos there is so much pre planning, set up, time, effort, filming, editing, descriptions, time stamps, publishing and so much more that goes into every video. It is hard to remember and watch for every detail when there is lots of behind the scene work to do at the same time. Thanks for watching.
