Since you have so many popsicle sticks to go through before you switch to metal stir sticks (to reduce bubbles), you can let a stick dry with epoxy on it (scrape off the excess). This will seal the wood and then the next time you use it, it won't create all the bubbles. Great tutorial, especially the fussy cut seam.

This is fabulous! I have been thinking about buying the edge trimmer, but I didn’t want to spend the money with it having mixed reviews. I’m glad you shared your idea! I have watched so many tutorials for using fabric and yours makes the most sense to me. I love the template idea...cutting the excess at the seam is intimidating to me. Videos may be new to you, but your explanations are top notch. And I totally LOLd at your 10,000 popsicle sticks comment 😂

Thank you so much! I remember when I started how intimidating the whole fabric tumbler videos looked to me so I tried to make them as easy as possible for me. The templates also help me decide the best part of the fabric to be in the middle every time. It’s definitely saved fabric and time. Hopefully soon I’ll run out of popsicle sticks LOL

U can put a thin book or note pad down to rest your hand on it while cutting around the rim so it can be even around and lifted enough to just cut both ends of fabric evenly off on both ends of the cup .

Hi. I loved this tutorial. What kind of fabric do you recommend for tumblers? Would you recommend also to buy the tumbler cut fabrics or not pre cut and cut it myself? Thank you
@CraftyyTwist4 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you so much! For starters I definitely recommend cotton lycra fabric. Once you get the hang of it you can also use woven but there’s no stretch to that so it’s just a little harder to work with. If you can buy the fabric by the yard it’s definitely cheaper than tumbler cuts but if you only need one or two of that print then you can definitely just purchase the tumbler cuts.

@@CraftyyTwist Hi. Thank you so much for the information so helpful. Appreciate the time you took to reply means a lot. I been looking at Etsy and they have some variety but in tumbler cuts 9x14. I need to keep looking if there is other sites with more variety.

@@puertaamezquita8858 I purchase all my fabric from Facebook groups. If you have Facebook I highly recommend joining fabric groups there. Some of the good destash groups are “custom knit fabric BST” “Disney fabrics BST” “custom Disney fabric BST” you can find fabrics from lots of groups there and you can ask where the fabric is from. Some of my favorite fabric groups off the top of my head is “Backstitch Fabric” (that’s where this print came from) “HAPA fabrics” “Miss Mac Fabrics” “Oh So Pretty Custom Fabric” “MandM Fabric” “MK Designs”

@CraftyyTwist3 жыл бұрын
If you’re using crystalac products you’re not supposed to use modpodge. They have a special glitter glue that you can use that works with their products. That may be why you’re having issues with the fabric.

Why do you need to sand the cup?
@CraftyyTwist4 жыл бұрын
In the beginning? Prepping the cup helps the fabric and glitter stick to the stainless steel. I sand after epoxy so I use less epoxy to cover the uneven areas of where the glitter is.
