Wonderful video. I just wanted to let you know that cocoamidopropyl betaine and coco betaine are two separate ingredients. I didn't know this until a few months ago, either. Most people don't, I did see it referred to as coco betaine on something at save on citric. Coco betaine was the first surfactant I ever bought and I thought I had purchased cocoamidopropyl betaine and that they just shortened the name on my bottle, lol. Coco betaine is more "natural" but cocoamidopropyl betaine is more mild. They are both amphoteric and have a similar ph. Anyways I am just trying to let everyone know when I see that they call cocoamidopropyl betaine coco betaine.

@@anonime9628 No, cocamidopropyl betaine is more mild. But when you combine surfactants, and use a smaller percentage of each you can make your formula more gentle. I definitely prefer cocoamidopropyl betaine over coco betaine.

Depends on the preservative, example Optiphen: It can be added directly to the formulation during pre- or post-emulsification at or below 60°C (140°F). That's why she recommends directions from manufacturer in her recipe.

It works but if you have a Magic Bullet or Coffee grinder that you have especially for Soap Making grind it into a powder so it's easier to melt. Don't use anything you'd use for food. You can always get a coffee grinder for things such as this that you ONLY use for soap or cosmetic making.

Hi, thanks for sharing this video. Can you please clarify measuring info for me? In the video you say to measure liquids by volume and dry ingredients by weight. In the written formulation you say to measure all by weight, which is what I do. Thanks so much!
@karenwalters20076 жыл бұрын
Sheron Brewer hello I’m going to try and answer your questions To measure by volume means to measure how much space is needed for a certain measurement. If you have an empty box and you want to find out how many ounces you would need to fill that box up half the way you can figure out the ounces by multiplying the height by the width by the diameter (plz this is not exactly the multiplication formula of how to get the ounces but it’s similar I’m just trying to show an example). To measure by weight is just simply using a scale If you do not understand the measure by volume part go to google and type in What does it mean to measure by volume I hope this help you If you hit the drop box in this video she have a link you can hit and it gives you the completed recipe with all the measurements. Thank u.

Hi Karen. I phrased my question incorrectly. It should have read clarify how it should be measured for this recipe. I measure by weight and was surprised to see that in this video the recipe measuring liquids in volume instead of weight.
