Thank you for the tutorial Daria.You explained the process nicely along with measurements. I had no idea it was this easy to make fondant and I'm looking forward to trying it. I hope you don't let any of the negative comments some people have posted discourage you, it's obvious they're focused on all that is negative and can't possibly be taught anything. You are extremely helpful and I'm excited about what else I can learn from you. Keep up the great work.
@susanlloyd351510 жыл бұрын
WOW! SERIOUSLY! All those making the crude comments: Would you seriously go to dinner at someone's house and make shitty comments to their face about how they cook, what type of bowl they use, or OMG you use blah, blah, blah? You act like she was using Arsenic for crump sakes. SMH. Not all of us are freaks about the type of bowl, or syrup that is used. This is probably something she does at her job everyday instead of just for the hell of it, so I'm pretty sure she probably knows what she's doing more than some of those on here that are Legendary Pastry Chefs in their own mind. I would hope those making ignorant comments would be a more gracious and courteous dinner guest than you have been watching this lady make this because it's basically the same thing. Obviously those that viewed or commented haven't managed to perfect how to make fondant or you wouldn't be on KZbin watching how someone else does it. If you don't like how someone is doing it then buy all means, keep your fingers and your rude comments to yourself and make your OWN video, doing it YOUR way since some of you act like you are SOOOO much better than this lady or could do it better. Everyone has their own way of making things. Doesn't mean YOUR way is the right way or better. It's just different. As far as those making the comments like she's stupid and doesn't know how to work the mixer because she didn't just "tilt it back" " or "did it the hard way." DUHHHH! Some are tilt head and some are bowl lift. I guess she could call those making the comments about that the dummies because OBVIOUSLY you must not have realized there are two different styles or you wouldn't have made the asinine remarks like she didn't know what SHE was doing. There are some of us that don't want just the ingredients. If you want that then go to a recipe site. Some of us would rather watch it being done and things explained because we have little ones that want to help and letting them watch the video to get somewhat of an idea beforehand what we're going to do helps them. Like mentioned earlier: If you don't like how she's doing it or anyone else for that matter, keep your mouth shut, fingers to yourself, and move on to the next video that you will no doubt rip apart or make your own so someone else can make comments about yours like you did hers. Some of us appreciate people like this taking the time out of their days to make videos like these. For the one that complained about the "highly toxic non' blah, blah, blah: Shame on the lady in the video for not using Silicone bowls or glass. Every time people turn around there are new studies saying this is linked to that disease or that is linked to this disease or conditions because most of the time even scientists don't really know what causes something so they have to find something to pin it on. I remember when I was younger and they tried to say drinking out of Styrofoam cups would cause cancer. Everything causes cancer now days if you believe everything you read, hear, or a study was done on. Everything. If it isn't now, give it a week and it will be in the news that it is. Face it, people that get disease are usually already predisposed to most of them due to genetics. Give the lady some credit. At least she was willing to take time out of her day to make a video to show some of us how to do this that weren't sure or didn't already know.

I only see criticism, and opinions. Not everyone going to like the same things, and yes I think they would say some of those things to that person's face if it helps them improve , and to express their opinion.

Couldn't agree with you more Susan Loyd. I watch these tutorials to learn and thank my lucky stars that people take the time to share their knowledge. There is a line between playful commenting on some videos which the uploader appreciates the banter, I'm sure.....but the unwarranted and unappreciated commenting makes me cringe at times. I wonder if some people really realise the time and effort that is put into making these tutorials - even KZbin has its yin and yang side, I guess............ :-)
@susanlloyd35158 жыл бұрын
There's a difference between constructive criticism and destructive. Unfortunately, many don't understand or care about the difference. They just let things roll off their fingertips or out of their mouths without a filter/guard or caring about how they present their "opinions." Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but at least be considerate and show some simple respect when presenting it. You can voice your "opinion" without ripping someone's self esteem down in the process

Thank you for this tutorial, I love making my own cakes, but I do not love how expensive fondant is!! (Also, I find it pathetic that all everyone can do is bash but apparently they are all professional bakers) Also, confectioners sugar is powdered sugar and no you do not need to sift it. If you do not have corn syrup you can easily make your own out of just a few ingredients (water, sugar, salt) directions/recipes are online.

White Sugar you can add 1 cup of white sugar to your recipe. You will have to increase the liquid in the recipe by 1/4 cup. It may take a few tries to get the combination of white sugar and liquid right for the outcome that you desire. www.ehow.com/info_8105085_corn-syrup-substitutes.html
