You inspired me with freezing all them veg offcuts and skins. I'm trying to waste as little as possible but this is the next level. Great!

You can also render fat from skins in a (CLEAN) air frier, the bottom of the basket catches the fat and the crispy delicious skins are left on top

Cool video. Well done. just a quick frugal tip. Try to avoid avoid putting wet food in the trash. I re-task those free fresh veggie poly bags they have at the grocery store. Anything wet or liquid goes in them - and then in the chest freezer until I have enough to fill a trash bag. It may seem trivial, but one can easily use 10x times the trash bags needed in a month (because it only takes few days for wet food to get stinky in the trash at room temp).

been doing this for many years - also with whole organic chickens.... never rendered the skins though - - i actually use the skins for the borth... but am going to try your way - - rendered skins it is.....

I sometimes put the skins in the broth after I've rendered them if I just have way too many to reasonably snack on. it's also definitely easier to just put them in the broth (you an also skim the fat off the broth when it's cold and cook with it that way) so your old way is totally valid!

Every Costco rotisserie chicken I buy is free broth, it’s the secret to fantastic soup! And the bones keep in the freezer till you need them Edit: if you need broth in a pinch, 30 minutes in the pressure cooker works too

Lol I’ve accidentally dumped my broth into the sink too 😂

nothing more tragic.

You could drain the rendered chicken skins in a strainer and not use the paper towels....

then I'd have to wash the strainer. there's waste either way.
