I tried to keep this one shorter, I swear, but it seems there was more to say!
This is a video about making friends with trees. It includes: a simple guide + a bunch of ideas, and a few stories thrown in for good measure.
I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you go out and make a new tree friend very soon!
So much love,
♡ Zoe

when I was younger I had 5 trees in my yard, 3 of them had swings on them, and one I would climb often to get away from my parents. But we have recently moved, and the new people who live there cut 3 of them down, and the other had to lose his branches truly broke my heart. This video made me realize how much I loved those trees and all the moments i’ve had with them

I felt a tree calling to me today ( one that I see all the time in my backyard) so I went and hugged it, and just felt so much love in return. It was a very humbling and beautiful experience. Then tonight I see your video, the universe is guiding me. Thank you, I will definitely keep up my relationship with this tree and work on communicating with him.

Hahahaha 😆♥️🍄 aaah, that is worth a giggle. Oooh yes, making friends with other plants, and even getting to know them through the ways they influence us when we eat them is something that interests me! But also, I just love the idea of you and your fungi friends hanging out in the woods ☺️🙏🏽♥️🍄. So sweet! Thanks for sharing James!

Sometimes When walk in nature, I see these little plants, kind of lie a shrub maybe 6-8 inches tall from the ground, with maybe 5-10 quite large leaves and I promise you, I have seen them wave, like just one of the leaves will be sharply swinging side to side, no wind or anything and it’s always just one out of the bunch, first time I kind of laughed and thought hey that plant is waving at me, after that I always wave back and smile. And I can picture it smiling back. Going to try with trees over the next few weeks and months. Luckily I live in Ireland so no shortage of trees here, perhaps faeries too, :-) I haven’t seen any yet though I’d be a bit apprehensive of that anyway. Nice video, great venue. :-) 🙏

What a sweet young lady. We ALL need to keep the CHILD within us ALIVE!!!! Because the childlike perspective within us has it's own WISDOM!! Nature helps us to balance between the CHILD & the ADULT. AND yes TREES are very HEALING. I know from experience. They help with depression. TRY IT😊💚🤗💚

I've always had a bit of healing ability and I wanted to practice taking away pain so I tried on my favorite tree I vibe with when I hike that is a little damaged maybe from fire. So I asked it to teach me how and to let me and after 20 minutes of my hands on it connecting with it I start feeling a sucking / pulling energy. It was an interesting sensation. Then I'm like okay how do I know if I healed it or took away away pain? I start moving my hands around it and all of a sudden I'm led to two nails stuck in it. All the weeks of mediating, feeling and vibing with the tree never saw them before So I needed to remove them, as the message I got was that nails are only okay for a purpose. So I went to remove today, couldn't other out yet, going back with a different tool. But bottom line it led me to it's pain and what I needed to do. Anyways thanks for your video! Fun to hear from a fellow tree talker speak in it. :) Just wanted to add this as a testimony.

My sister and I have always held friendly reverence for trees. Currently, I've befriended a lovely big old Tanoak. I like to bring them wine and smoke and just enjoy their company. It's not uncommon to find me sleeping either on one of their huge branches or at the roots. I can't feel at home without knowing I'm near to an old tree.

Humans are unique because we have more passages to other dimensions. Such as the dimension where love comes from or the dimension that evil comes from. We are a medium that no other living thing has so many pathways to other dimensions. If you listen with your mind, you can find the vibrations that plants communicate. You can see with your third eye the spaces they occupy, and you can feel their nature and the fabric in which they were manifested. You can feel healing properties and poisons within them if you sense their energy and their being. Thank you

Oh my gosh, what a fun little synchronicity! I am literally listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack right now, just as I saw your comment ✨😄🌳🌿! @@ZoeEccles I think the communication is a fundamental aspect of everyting. For example, I tried for about 8 months going to the tallest tree in a huge landscape, at the same time every day to see what it had experienced. I did't get anyting more then dissapointment, and restrictions. I walkt the forest around, checkt the whater, fed the animals etc - nothing worked - that was really sad. So I just gave up on that:'( (At lest got really good shoos out of that, coz I needed them for the hiking, but the shoos will last a lifetime - hehe!)

On the land I grew up on, we had a beautiful dogwood tree, that had wide branches, and bloomed so pretty and white. We would sit under it to play in the summer, and it was always where the family would gather on pretty evenings, for pictures. It had as much of a presence as a family member. In the winter, our pets and wild deer would sit under it, out of all the snow, and looked very pristine, away from the rest of the woods, on the top of a long, steep hill overlooking golden grass. I remember it not as much from my mind's eye, I was very young, as much as I would ask my parents what kind of tree it was, because I wanted to remember. Even now I have old photos from 20 or so years ago of us in summer dresses, our hair long and a little wild, under the dogwood tree. When I was much younger than I feel now, still getting to know myself, and the craft, and what kind of person and witch I wanted to be, I was looking so hard to find tools that spoke to me, and things that I might feel a connection to, work through, and feel those fleeting feelings of energy and connectedness that I think all of us seek on some level with the craft. I was shopping for a wand, as at that time I did not think to make my own, and didn't think I would like as much. I had been looking for two years, by now, but hadn't found the right fit. But then I saw it, a piece called "Snowy Dogwood" and even though it was not the prettiest wand, or the most elegant, had to it an heir of mystery or a lacquer finish, I kept going back, because that tree I remembered, and that tree had a meaning to me that was the same as home. I think it's important to know trees, and as important to remember the ones we grow up around. For me the crab apples, the beeches, the ash trees were important to me because they spoke about the place I lived in a way that didn't have words, things I still look back to now, things I drum upon where I live now, as I try my best to recapture the wonder of my youth living in beautiful places, seeing the majesty of the land with fresh eyes, to connect like I did years ago. It's a journey I'm going on now, as this year comes in, and the earth warms. This is such an inspiring video, to want to know those trees and plants that want to speak to you, and learn from them what we can. I think that treating them with the respect we'd treat a friend, meeting with them, and getting to know them is a profound idea that should be as simple as this, getting close to nature on the level of the spirits that live here among us so silently. I hope I can listen like you do, Zoe. You're such a lovely person to listen to, you're so honest and inspired, it re-energizes a part of me that I feel like I lose sometimes. Thank you so much!

You may have single-handedly restored a smidgen of the faith I held in people who practice magic with this comment ✨🥺😭! Seriously though, it’s been a bitter time recently, with so many of my “spiritual” friends turning to insidious and harmful alt-right ideologies, leaving me questioning my own place in the spiritual community, and whether I even want to be a part of it. And all I keep coming back to is the solitary practice I knew in childhood - the innate belief I held in the ineffable magic of nature, and the way it made me feel. Makes me feel. You captured that so perfectly with your words here - I know exactly what you mean when you say that many of us in the craft are simply looking for that fleeting feeling of connection and wonder ⚡️. Thank you so much for sharing your story of this dogwood tree with me, love ♥️. It had me smiling 😊, and you have inspired me, in turn.

I began to get very close to the trees and need to now walk close to them when I feel out of sorts in everyday life. I felt better n could walk for hours n talk to god n the trees around me I can't explain. Hi ow I felt but I was always blessed with abundance on those days.

Hahaha, you are completely correct! The things that go into making a pretty video like that are actually ridiculously comical. I kept tripping up on the edge of my dress while trying to walk uphill for one of the shots. And don’t even get me started on how hard it is to take the dang thing off after wearing it - the struggle is real 😂 (look up old medieval paintings of people trying to get their clothes off, and you will see a pretty accurate representation of me in the forest that day). I only wore the dress for a very small section of that walk - for the purposes of taking photos. The rest of the time it was stuffed into my backpack and I was wearing normal clothes.
