Using these inspiration cards is a great idea of creating embellishments! Have to get a set of cards, for there are so many shapes to make our embellishments! They will,provide hours of time making them individually
@BarbOwenDesigns6 жыл бұрын
Hi Cheryl. When you pull the cards apart, it's really incredible how many viable colorful art supplies are available inside just 1 box of cards. And, then there are the inspiration words and quotes. When I began actually working/playing with the card pieces, I was thrilled! I hope that you get the cards and have many, many hours of fun with them. ;-) Stay Creative!

I’m thinking that if you are using the same tissue paper for a batch, you could glue it to the full sized watercolor sheet then cut to ATC size. Please advise if you think this wouldn’t work well.

Another question: Where did you get those small Ziploc bags? They're just the right size for keeping small pieces of work all together, as you have them. I used to be able to get what Ziploc called snack bags, but they discontinued them. Thanks.
@BarbOwenDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Hi there. The little bags are in fact snack bags from the grocery store. The store where I shop still carries them although I don't think they are Ziplocs. You can also find small zipper bags where jewelry supplies are sold in hobby/art stores. Hope that helps. Stay Creative!
@mawmawvee5 жыл бұрын
Thanks and thanks for your patience. I'll have to look at the grocery store where we shop. They're such a good size and I would like to be able to get some more. I have a few from way back when ZipLock still had them. Also, I never thought to look for them elsewhere like online, to see if anyone makes those bags set up like the snack bags because they are wide rather than long and that makes them easier to get into. I like to keep scraps organized in them so I can see what I have without having to dig through piles of scraps in a box.

Great tutorial! Do we have to worry about the copyright on the mandala cards?
@BarbOwenDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon. Thank you so much for watching. I'm not sure what you mean by "worry about the copyright". I own the copyright on the cards, eBooks and Mandala Madness courses. If you could clarify your question, I'll be happy to answer. Thanks, again, for your kind comment. ;-) Stay Creative!
@Bluedragonhealer5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for replying! Yes, I see you own those copyrights, but what if I use your cards or someone else’s cards to make my own art to sell or give away? Would I be violating your copyright, or are they “altered” enough after I cut them up, paint over, etc. to have me not be in violation of your copyright? As a writer and artist myself, I worry about this. I would hate to get in legal trouble. Thank you, again.
@BarbOwenDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sharon. I can only speak about our Mandala Madness Inspiration Cards so you would have to contact the copyright holder for any other decks. If you use our cards to create your own original art to sell, you are free to do that and you would not be violating any copyright here. If you made copies of our cards to use to sell, that would be a different story OR if you made finished art and made copies of that to sell, there would be an issue. As long as you are using the cards themselves to make finished original pieces, feel free to sell them and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Thanks for your question! Stay Creative! Barb

Beautiful, time to find my petroleum jelly
@BarbOwenDesigns6 жыл бұрын
Hi Beth. The first time I saw this technique (Claudine Hellmuth) I had to play and play and play! It becomes even more fun when you add 2 or 3 colors. The challenge is to get rid of every trace of the petroleum jelly IF you plan to add pen work or markers over the background. Regardless, it's loads of fun to experiment with! Thanks for watching. Stay Creative!

Where in Hobby Lobby did you find this tissue paper? Is it the kind that you would use for mixed media projects? The kind that's thicker?
@BarbOwenDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Hi there. This tissue paper was in the section where the gift bags, gift wrap and tissue papers are located. It's thicker than plain white tissue paper but thinner than a traditional gift wrapping paper. Hope that helps. Stay Creative!
@mawmawvee5 жыл бұрын
Hi Barb, Thanks for your quick and thoughtful reply. I didn't even think of the card and gift bags and wraps in Hobby Lobby. I could look at napkins while there, also, which are good for making ATCards and Coins. Thanks so much. I sure enjoyed your video.

Everything is sooo beautiful, and you have such a lovely voice to listen to. Wish shipping to Canada wasn't worth way more than the cards, and then there is the exchange rate putting 1 deck close to $100. *sigh* I guess I will just have to keep coming back and watching this tutorial. Thank you!

Didn't you say it's a Tim Holtz board? He's into grunge, so the board is grungy like it should be, so don't apologize for that. :D By the way--I recently did get the book by Claudine Hellmuth, so it is still around. It's 9/20/2019 right now.
@BarbOwenDesigns5 жыл бұрын
Hi there. I'm guessing that you might be referring to my cruddy craft mat. ;-) It is a mat from Tim Holtz/Ranger that I've attached to a board with Gorilla Tape so it's easy for me to move around and it stays flat. I use it mostly for messy stuff like alcohol inks. And it's definitely grungy!! Claudine's books are great and I'm glad you found one! Thanks so much for watching. Stay Creative!
@mawmawvee5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you were apologizing for the condition of that board, so I was trying to make a lame joke about it to cheer you up. It sounds like quite a contraption and is put to good use. When people are letting others see how they create their art works, I'm not about to worry about the condition of the mats, or anything else they're using. :) Thank you for sharing with us.
@mawmawvee5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was referring to your cruddy craft mat. :) Sounds like a good board for hard-to-remove products so you can save the good ones.
