I have a very super narrow hard bone bridge. My main problem was not addressed and there may not be a solution. I have a very thin bony bridge. Adjustments do not work. Oversized bridge pads do not work. I have sewn soft rubber cups over the pads, but that does not work. It works better than anything else, but still leaves a large red area that aches. My pads are adjustable, but no adjustment seems to work. Contact lenses are out of the question for me as my eyes are deep set, and I'm 78 years old and do not want the aggravation. So other than some sort of band over my head holding the glasses off my nose, I don't know what to do. Any ideas? Thanks.

Thank you for all the helpful videos! I need a panoscopic tilt in my glasses otherwise my RX gets thrown off and things are blurry, but my new glasses (same exact frame as my old, which tilted fine) have a new hinge that is so straight and stiff it comes loose out of the frame itself instead of bending (I already broke a pair trying, then got a replacement). I've taken it to three places and all three said it couldn't be done. Is there any way for me to get the tilt with adjusting the arms? Would bending them both down achieve the same tilt as if it were done at the hinge? The frames are low bridge Oliver from Warby Parker. I'm losing my mind trying to get these adjusted properly both with tilt and behind my ears, but so many places just do not care about comfort. Any tips or ideas would be helpful!

Yes, you can make that bend further back on the temple arms for the same result, it just doesn’t “look” as clean :). Basically angle it downwards equally on both sides right before where it touches the ears and you’ll be adding panto

Will loosening the temple a slight bit behind one ear make the glasses sit lower or be tilted on that same side? I’ve been wanting to loosen just one side a tiny bit, but I’ve been afraid it will make the glasses tilt.

All the adjustments play together but then you just adjust for the tilt if they’re crooked after. Depending on where the bend is placed it can do that, but it shouldn’t.

Thanks for sharing the how to content. I’ve been able to adjust my frames much better with your tips but still not perfect. Especially with my MJ Kawika’s. Are you familiar? The temples are very thick but the angle at the tip needs to be on more of an angle to rest on my ears. I’m afraid they may crack. Can you give me any suggestions?

Just sold and adjusted one of those earlier today 😂. It is a bit more of a bear than some due to the thickness of the temples giving such a small adjustment area. I find cases like that it’s better to make the bend inward to follow the skull curve rather than trying to mess with downwards behind the ears. The balance is a bit more delicate between slipping and hurting here though, but it won’t crack with a little bit of heat :) Pretty well made little frame!

Some good tips. I have wasted like 2-4 hours each day in the past 3 days just trying to adjust my glasses because i realized they were leaning on the other side a little bit more and it has been driving me so crazy. I’ll try these tips tomorrow I hope I’ll get it right this time because my perfectionist personality just wouldn’t be able to take it. 😩

This should definitely help get you there! If not I’ve got some deeper dives on each individual adjustment separately that live in the frame fit playlist. It’s a longer road but for the perfectionist really the must travel one! Might turn you into a better adjuster than most any optician 🫣

I was just thinking about replacing my PVC nose pads with ceramic ones bc I found ones that match my rose gold frame. Are they that big of an improvement for comfort?
@ThatGlassesGuy033 ай бұрын
More for temperature than anything, but generally I far prefer them to silicon pads. Adjustment is more finicky because the pads can’t give of course, but otherwise it’s great!

@@jesuslovesjudy same processes. Most people are asymmetric. If it’s a dramatic difference split the adjustment between both sides, all still pretty easy 😁

Hey there! Please show some adjustments to acetate nose pads, I’d really like to try making mine fit better but I still can’t find an optician who’ll do that for me
@ThatGlassesGuy03 Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, that’s far beyond “basic” or DIY adjustments. You’re talking extreme heat and power tools and possibly even fusing an entirely different pad design to the frame. 🥶

Hello good sir, how's things? I usually rinse my glasses under water. My new frames are clear and I can see water stuck between the frames and lens. Will this eventually evaporate or will it cause rust?
@ThatGlassesGuy03 Жыл бұрын
Totally fine. Long term you’ll get some residue there just from whatever is in the water (unless you have whole home filtration and 0 TDS at the tap). Nothing to be concerned about :)
@JL00212 Жыл бұрын
@ThatGlassesGuy03 thanks...in your experience does the water stuck between lens and frame eventually evaporate?
