The first batch - the kernels which popped early absorbed quite a lot of the glaze, so there was less left at the end. It might be better to pre-heat and add the glaze later.

What I’m using is a popcorn machine made by Superior Popcorn Company. I assume it’s comparable and would pop popcorn similarly. I got it on Amazon. Being from Chicago, the big popcorn thing is the “Chicago mix”. Which is cheese and caramel corn. So this is something I definitely need to find out soon.

Popcorn isn't covered in caramel because Glaze Pop is measured at a 2:1 corn/glaze ratio. So, if you measure 6 grams of corn you need to measure out 3 grams of glaze, etc. Hope this helps.

When it comes to Caramel Popcorn or Kettlecorn, go with Mushroom popcorn. That's your best bet to go with when it comes to this type. It's the fluffiest one that's used for the candied type. Question though, where do you get the GlazePop from? I'm thinking about getting a Whirleypop for it. Now, I'm gonna go on and make some Kettle Corn 😅.

I’ve always made this stove top… but got a machine today to try. But even stove top it’s pretty unevenly coated. However, when the lights are out and you are grabbing little handfuls while watching a movie you can’t really tell much. But I do appreciate the various attempts.

Did this with my popcorn machine with terrible results. Found the glaze left a very sticky layer on the inside of the pot. Dadgum was it a heck cleaning it!. Did you have the same problem or not?

How would you compare the Caramel Glaze to kettle corn style? In regards to sweet to salty ratio? I don't like overly sweet popcorn, but i do like the flavor of caramel though.

Thank you for this great video. Neat to see your consumer popcorn popper make professional concession popcorn at home. Your advice is helpful. It's awesome that there are household size popcorn poppers like yours in this video that enables you to make movie theater popcorn, carnival style caramel popcorn, and other flavors easily yourself. I plan to use my 8 ounce popper like this one and make various flavors and give away bags of the popcorn as Christmas gifts. They would definately make people very happy year around as well.

When are you adding the glaze? If you add the glaze too soon it can burn. Oil, corn and then glaze. Test your oil with a couple of kernels and then add corn. Give it a minute to heat up and add glaze. If that doesn't work I would check the thermostat, it might need to be adjusted to not burn the glaze.

I love your channel and your videos very informative. I have the same machine as you but I'm running into an issue. I tried the chocolate and I tried the caramel and both times the popcorn started popping and it was fine but then it started burning and smoking at the very end. I am using regular oil not buttered, I'm using Orville Redenbacher popcorn, and I use 4 oz of the mix for an 8 oz amount of popcorn. Any troubleshooting tips?

Thank you! I notice the flavors burn quickly. I would suggest watching closely and turn the heat off close to the end and empty the basket quickly.

You need to turn off the heat a minute or so after it start pop because the pot is well heated to pop the corn to yhe end

Personally, I would add the oil first, then the powder. Let it stir and mix for a second as it comes to temp, then add the kernels. I think that would be the best way to ensure that the flavor of the powder is evenly spread.

What started to burn? If you’re using a popcorn machine, it all happens very quickly. So it can’t sit for too long or it will start to burn.
