Psy isn't a style i ever make, but the whole history of the genre is chock-full of so many lessons we can learn from in any genre. I come from breaks, where we tend to draw from a very eclectic palette, but i think this could all apply just as well to house, UKG, whatever. Biggup from the broken side of the beat ❤

Tbh I love using break beat drum loops in some tracks. I guess Psy is really heavy on the production side so that's why i it has some universal stuff. But a lot of things can be baked into other genres / or even the merge gets a new genre on it's own. :)

i've just started to produce psytrance on ableton can u please do a video that shows how u mix your tracks like returns channels and how u group leads and process them in a group and not adding fx to each sound u make in serum or vital and one shot for example

lame question but what do you mean by "grid section" here? Just a section of the track that plays the MIDI grid of these otherworldly sounds?
@Psiger2 ай бұрын
I mean those parts where you create a groove between more FX type of sounds. A section in which you don't have a melody or a riff in focus but more a conversation of multiple repeating elements.
