This is pretty to look at and I can definitely appreciate the concept. I do feel that it would be best to add a disclaimer in writing on screen and verbally said that this could be unsafe for some individuals so proceed with caution. Acrylic Paints, even the water based non toxic versions, are only safe when used properly. If you are going to paint your candles do not light them because the paint fumes become toxic when heated. These would be awesome as purely decorations around the home so please keep this in mind. I personally have a Bachelors in fine arts with a focus on painting but for those who are still skeptical you can do an independent search on Google to find the paint company's safety data sheet about how to use and how to not use your brand of paint. In the end it is up to the individual to do their own research but I would hate for someone to blame this amazing channel if something went wrong for them.

@sarahsnow9088 I have been looking all over for a burn safe alternative for painting candles. As a fine paint artist, do you know of any product that you can use to paint different parts of a candle? I'm using a mold to mold the wax and there are different sections that I want to paint different colors. I don't want to be responsible for someone buying down their house or inhaling unsafe fumes. If there a way to paint candles safely? What products do you recommend?

These are so pretty, and would make a lovely gift! I'd really like to make some with *bluebells* on for a friend. I'm hoping just a thick stroke down to a thin with a little flick at the end will create the bell shape I need? 🤔 Advice most welcome if you've ever done bluebells! 🙏🏼🤍

If you don't have the sticky stuff to keep the candle in place, you can burn the candle from the bottom until it starts to melt slightly, and then shove it in and let it cool. The melting wax will fill any extra space in the hole, and will stick the candle in real nice and snug.

I love these! This is such a great idea, I have all the materials on hand and am going to try this out myself. One thing though - do you know if the candles are still safe to burn once painted? Would the air dry base be safe to handle a lit candle/melted wax? Or is this more of a decorative-only thing

Yes, as long as you use non-toxic acrylic paint.

Scents are oily. That is probably why. Use unscented candles.
