Yeah, took me like 3 years of music making to find my own way of making melodies so I hope this one helps out people that are trying to find their own way as well

I'd wish you'd explain how you do harmonies
@Barrashardstyle7 ай бұрын
Yeah forgot to explain them, my bad. Making harmonies is the same process as making the chords. It is about figuring out which notes go along together and that sound well, hence creating differente harmonies. While chords are (usually) 3 or more single notes that together sound well, the harmony would be just 1 out of the total of 3 notes that would existe. So basically, there is the main lead andthe harmony of the main lead. The chord would be made by the main lead + harmony + another single note that sounds good with both of them. As you want a harmony, not a chord, you only have 2 of the layers, which are the main melody and the new one that will be the harmony.

Nice one, but how do you make the kick-bass move up and down in tone with the melody without sounding like crap? 🤣
@Barrashardstyle3 ай бұрын
Mostly by training your ear which happens while listening/ making music One thing I always do is make the chords first and then follow then with the bassline. If your ear is trained you can tell if one note is usable or not, even if it goes "out of tune"... Sometimes it can make sense, give a new vibe / value to your whole melody Either you learn music theory or just train your ear and do your thing. I don't know music theory 😆
