So Easy! So Delicious!...(as far as Vinegar tastes). Please know that this IS "Diabetic friendly". The sugar is turned into ascetic acid by the time this is ready. It does NOT require refrigeration; I simply prefer to take a bit of vinegar each evening and like to drink it cold.

Be very careful marketing this as Apple Cider Vinegar and selling it under that label as this recipe is not apple CIDER vinegar. It is Apple vinegar. Apple cider vinegar goes through two separate fermentation processes.

@@miblvd431 I agree with Donna Storme. If the apples are completely submerged, it would make a ‘closed’ process, and be much less likely to have mold develop. If the apples were below the water, you wouldn’t have dust/dirt/natural yeast, etc., that naturally occurs in the air directly touching the apples, and contaminating them.😢😄

I have always loved vinegar. As a child I could not wait for the empty pickle jar as I drank the juice. You are inspired by Yahweh presenting this. Vinegar is a natural healer as first cold press olive oil. The mix is valuable for the body. Both are scriptural. May He bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you.

Yes, that grace and natural presence, I agree with you, Michelle Swing. I believe that's what a clean diet and a clear mind and heart do to a person. There's a vitality and clarity, in people who live naturally, often close to nature as in working on the land, growing one's own food. Knowing one's needs in simple ways and in gratitude for what God's blessings with Mother Earth are offering.

I was a drug adict tattoo artist gangmember and a bunch of other things, for a long time. Deported from the united states to mexico because i 19 years old disided not to fight my leagal Right to be in the us. I was deported to mexico and here i would tattoo on the mafia and do drugs leagaly because of the mafia. But i had Accepted Jesus Christ into my heart in fort worth tx tarrant county jail in the God Pod. So i Believed in Jesus i Was Just lost And a prisioner of Drug adiction.well one night i was so scared of evil vibes. Literly in my house on drugs and hearing voices and i layed on my bed and cried out to God And Said God forgive me for using drugs but take this feeling away from me that im feeling because im scared and all of a sudden i guess i fell asleep in that instent. And i felt something lifting me up very very fast and when i opened my eyes i was in the middle of the clouds clear as day and an angel with very tall white wings appeared to me and told me Tell The People To Have Their Doors Ready and as soon as he said that i felt like if i was thrown on to my bed and it was no longer night time. It was already day time but i had not felt any time pass and i started crying and crying and asking God What does that Mean and something told me Look in the bible. And i remembered that back in the God Pod In Tarrant county jail someone told me that if something really is from God it has to be found in the bible. Make this testimony short i checked on google what does the bible say about Doors and it poped up. Jesus said I Am The Door If by Me Any Man Entereth he Shall be Saved. Man i started crying and crying. It still took me about another year or a little more by a near death experiance to Finaly Accept and srrender my life the The Lord And marry the mom of my 2 little girls be babtized and teach preach testify that Jesus Christ Really does Change and Save Drug Addicts. Jesus has appeared to me 3 times and has shown me Hidden things. The 2nd time He Showed me Rays of Lights coming out of His Hand and i Never knew that, That Was Written in the Bible Book of Habakukk chapter 3:4 and He Told Me Tell Them The End Is Near Tell Them The Kingdom Of Heaven Is At Hand. This is great to learn! I use it in my bath water sometimes because it is wonderful for female hygiene. Sometimes at the end of a hot bath while my hair is still warm I'll pour the apple cider vinegar over my hair, face and body and let it dry that way. leaving it on over night to help with hair growth and wrinkles as it is loaded with biotin. I don't do that very often because it is very strong for my family and they can't take the smell, but when I do my skin and hair really glow!

That's because vinegar needs air(why she puts a coffee filter over it to allow air in and carbon dioxide out), but alcohol needs no access to air. Alcohol will turn into vinegar eventually...have to get to alcohol stage before it can turn into vinegar stage. It's really neat!

Hello! You remind me so much of my very much younger self! I, too, loved my grandmother so much and delight, still, in wearing the old-fashioned kitchen aprons. I have made vinegar for years and cheese and tinctures and breads, etc. So satisfying! I stumbled across your video this morning for the first time, and I absolutely love it! Even though, I have spent years learning, there is always something else to learn, and it is always interesting to see how others are similar or different. I, too, faced the cheesecloth dilemma many years ago when finances very slim pickin's. I discovered that a pinked-edge diaper works wonderfully well and has a very long "shelf life"! I invested in a package of twelve, unfolded, pinked-edged 100% cotton diapers that are still in use today. They are study, stand up to repeated washing, and are easily sanitized on a clothes line in the sun. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos! I feel like I just stumbled across a much younger kindred spirit! Blessings! Marian

I sat watching the video & got the urge to hunt up a picture or two or myself back in the day. And, no that's not vanity. I usually can barely stand cameras or pix being taken of me, but I watching this was like seeing a kindred spirit of time & day almost forgotten. The energy & the zeal, doing everything from scratch. I miss it. I was actually shocked when my eldest son announced his wife was going to use cloth diapers with the brood, breastfeed, etc. etc. I figured it wouldn't last very long, considering the modern world. I wouldn't even know where to buy cloth diapers these days, folded, unfolded, or whatever. Every once in a while I come across an old diaper pin in my stuff & fond memories flood in. Fresh bread baking with that yeasty smell permeating the air, sourdough starter in the back of the refrigerator, homemade cranberry sauces, jellies, & jams, & carrying a banana & a spoon in my purse when other moms had a glass jar & modern ones have a food pouch, of all things. I sometimes feel like a dinosaur. This girl simply glows & I'm sure pretty much everything she does is blessed. BTW: Grandkids 3 & 4, through my two eldest boys, are due by the end of the year.

Love the video as I also love to ferment things.. I ferment my own ACV also, and I ferment my own kefir.. Making your own kefir is better because it will contain over 60 different strains of good bacteria and yeast... The bacteria strain responsible for turning ethanol into vinegar is called Acetabacter. I actually started off my fermentation hobbies by making wine. Homemade wine from a vine of wild Muscadines that was growing in my Grandmother back yard.. I didn't get the process right the time. The yeast strain I used did convert all the natural sugar and added sugar into ethanol. The problem was that I let it sit way to long and the wine did turn to vinegar lol... Thats how I learned how to make vinegar by the way lol.. But yes, homemade ACV is much better than the ACV in the store.. I love to ferment. I also ferment my on yogurt. I dont drink alcohol, but I do ferment wine, beer and liquor for certain family members and friends. Even kefir... Love the video.... You should try homemade pineapple cider vinegar 😋 i also make my own penicillin and other antibiotics and I also make my own probiotics lol. So trust me when I say, I feel you on the homemade thing. Making your own cocout oil is also a must

about honey vs. sugar - for any fermentation process - honey is antibacterial and can inhibit growth of good/healthy bacteria found in healthy/dynamic ferments. Molasses can be substituted for some or all of the sugar (depending on taste preferences) & would add more beneficial minerals to the mix. The reaction of metal with vinegar also is a concern of metal with ferments. Wooden spoons are great.

Thanks for the detailed information. Just what I was looking for. Yes, we use the ACV daily. We have an old granny smith apple tree, last year we planted another tree, a semi-dwarf Gala Apple, Malus x domestica 'Gala'. It had about 20 apples this, the first year. I am looking forward to the taste of the ACV...anxiously waiting. Shall start a batch tomorrow. I have lots of apples (heaven sent)...who says money doesn't grow on trees. We have 2 apple, 2 fig, two cherry, a plum and we are blessed with goodness galore. If one subtracts one "o" from good, they will know where all the good in the world comes from.

I am now one week and one day after making my first batch of ACV (3 quarts). Thanks for posting such detailed information. I came back to "remember" how long to set with apples and how long to let it sit after apple chunks are removed. I must admit, I am a chopper, I chopped the apple pieces much smaller, in hopes that it will still work just fine. I am sporting a fine garden in my big back yard and my Honda Rototiller DIED !!! I took it to the dealer and he told me the upper end and crank and lower end were killed and the oil was so black...and I just changed it after the last season. So, it was 350. to repair(out of the question) a new one is about 280. So I hacked my electric lawn mower and removed the casing and motor, mounted it on the rototiller with a special made adapter and adapter plate. It works with a speed control from a router removed from my wood shop. Now it is a 3.5 HP electric rototiller. I use it to chop up the apples before they go into the recycle bin. Some bugs get to the apples before I do. Last year I filled 2 freezers (small) with 1 gallon bags of apple/pear sauce. After steaming the fruit processor makes great apple sauce. Now I can make my own ACV...Thanks A lot...it's like the old wives tale...an apple a day keeps the doctor bills away...I think it goes for apple cider vinegar with little more discussion!

You have answered a big and long standing dilemma for me. I am so very grateful, truly I am. I have a lovely very old apple tree that produces the most amazing apples which when in season seems almost never ending. My garden looks like apple shaped grass...I'm not kidding. After giving away as much as possible before people start avoiding me and trying almost every possible way with apples along with what the wildlife feast on, I'm still left with a huge amount which although no bad thing end up in my compost; still seems a real shame. These apples are real beauties!. I love raw apple cider vinegar (and it's taste) I give it to my pets too. And yes it is really amazing stuff! My only dislike is I never seem to have enough of the stuff...but now you have given me the answer, one I couldn't have wished for. The thought of making my own; I'm so excited! A few science comments. Wash everything that touches the clean apples, your hands, knife, cutting board, spoon, the fermenting weight, and the glass container. Sanitize utensils using a mild bleach solution (1/2 oz regular bleach mixed into 1 gal of water) or Star San (brewers use this). Make sure the apples are 'underwater' the whole time- any that are not will mold. Covering the liquid with a breathable cheesecloth, coffee filter, lets the carbon dioxide produced during fermentation vent away while keeping flies and insects out- they will ruin the batch. Chemically what's happening is in the first stage you are making apple wine using natural yeast (a fungus) to ferment the added sugars, the apple sugars and carbs. What happens in the second phase is the wine you just made, when exposed to oxygen for a month, will be converted to vinegar when a naturally occurring bacteria (acetobacter) converts the ethanol (alcohol) in the wine into acetic acid. Most all food vinegars are diluted to 5% acetic acid. This same process is duplicated any time you leave a bottle of wine exposed to oxygen for a few weeks, thereby accidentally making 'red wine vinegar'.
