Can you use just regular vanilla to flavor it instead of the syrup?
@CastleFarmsHomestead Жыл бұрын
The vanilla just adds flavor. The sweetener is just according to your taste. You don't have to use any sweetener at all. I know some people prefer it that way. I tend to like a little something sweet with either the maple syrup, or honey, but I've tried other things as well. It's fun to experiment. You can even forego the sweetener and just add fruit. Have fun trying different things. I'd love to hear about what you try and what you like.

I noticed with raw milk yogurt there was no excess fluid. Is that a characteristic of making yogurt from raw milk or did you somehow pour it off and I just didn’t see?
@bobbiastle5035 Жыл бұрын
There is not much whey produced with raw yogurt. I'm not sure why. I wish I understood the science behind it. I did not pour any off. That's one reason I prefer Raw milk. There's one less step involved. 😉

Can we use over and over again the yogurt as a statter for making new yogurt from milk? Or should we replace it once every how many times we use it? And why?
@CastleFarmsHomestead4 ай бұрын
You can use some of the yogurt as a starter for the next batch perpetually. Isn't that great!

@@CastleFarmsHomestead no contaminations ? May i know how many streaks of batches have you made from the past batch yogurt as a starter?
@CastleFarmsHomestead4 ай бұрын
I have used part of my last batch to start my next batch for over a year at a time more than once. The only time I purchase new yogurt is when I've forgotten to withhold some and I'm out. It should not get contaminated if you keep everything clean. Great questions.

And that's making a new batch every week.

@@CastleFarmsHomestead thankyou for the confirmation. Im starting to believe that those who says that you have to used new yogurt starter every bla bla bla times are just selling stuffs or they never experiment themselves

Not fast because the culture had to grow but it's very easy to do.

I’ve been making yogurt for my family using your method and it’s amazing! I was wondering, have you ever tried just letting it incubate in the instant pot and then bottling it after that? Instead of incubating in the jars. I’m wondering if it would ruin the consistency.

Bobbi actually just tried that this week with the raw milk, and did NOT turn out well! Everything separated a bit. It works fine with store bought milk though

We specifically say in the video that we are NOT boiling the milk, and then we proceed to NOT boil the milk
