Thank you for this simple recipe! Just got a milk frother and can’t wait to try it out lol. Is it possible to tell the name of the matcha you used and if it’s available online? Or any other good quality ones for drinks. I’ve tried 3-4 different brands of matcha from the store, but they have always turned out to be dull and brownish. Never vibrant green :(
@TokyoFoodieSarah3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that! I got my matcha powder at a nearby supermarket in Japan, but maybe you can check out some matcha from large Japanese companies (e.g. Itoen, Iyemon). They usually produce decent quality matcha!

ive had this same issue before!!! i use Ujido Ceremonial Blend Matcha - its made in japan and it gives a vibrant green color! tastes amazing also. i live in the US + found it in a local supermarket, it should be on amazon though

Hi Sarah, Is there any yummy matcha powders you recommend? Im in California. In store or Amazon pls
@TokyoFoodieSarah3 жыл бұрын
I use matcha powder that you can only get in Japan, but I’ve found some on Amazon which I think would be nice 😊 1. Ito En is a famous brand so I would trust this one. You can get the unsweetened one. www.amazon.com/Ito-En-Sweetened-Antioxidant-Japanese/dp/B07K9PJ4LB/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=matcha%2Bjapan&qid=1613296841&sr=8-2&th=1&psc=1 2. Just need to pour hot water with this one. Blends is a good brand that makes instant lattes. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07JNLKQ4G/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07JNLKQ4Gp13NParams&smid=A3LK2M6ZRCAAXA

Some Japanese matcha are cultivated with a long steam process, maybe 60 seconds and that will lead to a taste reminiscent of seaweed or nori. Other Japanese matcha are steamed less time for more floral flavour. Look into what kind of tea is for you. Also, burning matcha with water too hot will change flavour.
