As a hairdresser, your instructions are very concise and easy to follow and you have a very pleasing sound to your voice. I just wanted to recommend a metal teasing comb instead of the plastic. It really grabs the hair and helps the tease to be more efficient and "packed". Plastic gives too much slip. Thanks for your great videos. My son has been begging me to dread his hair and I had no idea how to do it. Your video was very helpful. He's actually pleased with my girst attemp at locking dreads.

Id say probably cuz he’s not leaving them in long enough for his hair to really die.. And he’s doing instant locks so it’s not all dead and dry by the time it locks and it’s easier to comb out cuz they aren’t as tight and matted as real locks..

It's about 5 inches long now so I think it's time to do those dreadlocks! Your video was very informative and I've ordered your tools. I'm excited! I may have to do the twist and rip method for mine though cause I’ve got straight hair. Love the videos bro, big inspiration.
@kevinkirkland4577
@kevinkirkland4577 4 жыл бұрын
As a white guy who had dreads, rip n twist is your only option. Freeform straight hairs dreads are too messy. Don't put gel or wax of any kind in your hair either. If you burn incense the ash can be used. It dries the hair out making it Matt easier. After doing rip and twist palm roll the dreads. Palm roll them at least once a week, but daily is better

I want to start off by saying, nice glasses! I had those same Ray Bans clear on gold. My hair texture is pretty close to ur's. Ur's is a little finer. I had dreads back in 2013. I twisted them and waited a long 14 months for them to loc. My wife wasn't keeping up on maintenance so I cut them and always wanted to grow them back. I just don't want to wait 14 months for my hair to loc. Plus the older I get the thinner my hair is becoming so it seems even straighter now than it was then. Thanks for the video. I just ordered my supplies and I'm going to give it a round 2

i have like 1b hair and only did twist and rip with no tools its been like 3-4 days and my hair is already starting to lock up i put rubber bands in each dread and then left them in all night and then like half the day, that way the roots stayed tight even after i took them out. Any tips would be very handy. Ty p.s i am embracing african culture not tryna steal it, i am genuinely in love with maintaning and keeping my dreads and learning about the history of dreads and african type hair styles in genaral SO WEAR YOUR HAIR LIKE A CROWN AND A BLESSING NOT A CURSE THAT SHOULD BE "TAMMED" IT IS PART OF YOU AND YOUR HERITAGE SO BE PROUD AND KEEP YOUR HEAD UP p.s soz for the spelling

this works with Afro hair great but with my European hair it is mega heavy and lasts much longer, but still will use your method here with me because you get the thickness of the dreads very uniformly. . 🙏 thanks

Hey! I love your videos! In the future you should refer to “dreadlocs” as simply “locs” because the word dread adds a negative connotation when referencing our crowns. You’re doing an amazing job keep up the good work!!

our hair is pretty similar, except mine is a bit more textured so I don't get as many singular, defined curls. so I'm pretty hyped to see the rest of the video (I haven't seen it all but u told me to leave a positive comment so I did lololol)

This was so helpful. I have dreads and damage short loose hair in the front of my head n I was going to buy crochet dreadlocks and add them to the front but its rare to find my hair type (3C) anyway. Also I don't want to waste money going salons during a pandemic.
