+amit middha I read your reply. I think the internet has brought us all together. When I read your reply about getting a job, I was very happy for you. We are all getting educated from each other. We all came from small villages when our fathers fathers and mothers came to the USA. Mine came from Sparta Greece a small village there. Accident of birth brings joy and woe but the internet has brought us together. Wonderful story and much happiness to you.

This is what I got from the tutorial. It sounds wonderful and I will try it! 8 cups mini marshmallows 2 tablespoons water Microwave in 30 second increments until melted Add to melted marshmallows 1 tablespoon Butter & Vanilla Emulsion ½ Teaspoon salt or Popcorn salt ½ teaspoon lemon extract or lemon juice 1 Tablespoon Corn Syrup Place marshmallow mix in mixer with dough hook 2 lbs powder sugar sifted Add 1/3 of the powdered sugar Add more when incorporated in the marshmallow Kneed fondant until the fondant is pliable but does not stick to your hands. Let fondant sit for a couple of hours before you use it.

Great instructions, I really enjoyed the video and how you kept it real; gave the bowl to my kids! I was wondering if Tylose can be added to this and if it would have the same effect as with regular fondant? The marshmallows seem to have this quite pliable. Thanks much.

I added a little marachino cherry juice to the fodant. When the juice is added to the fondant, it starts to break it down, and after being dipped in chocolate and sitting for a week to ten days, it will turn into the liquid that is in chocolate covered cherries.

there are many recipes online for fondant cake central is a great place to find cake decorating recipes....it is not the easiest thing to make, there are also a lot of commercially made fondants that are really good to use and reasonably priced...if you make your own you can add your own flavorings to the fondant as your making it....and you dont need to use marshmallows.....look for rolled fondant recipe or just fondant..good luck and happy caking

Great video. I have few questions. 1) when using fondant over buttercream on a cake, how stiff should your butter cream be? 2) Should the buttercream layer be thick or thin? I begun having problems with my fondant buckling and bulging around the bottoms of my cake. It seems as though my buttercream is sliding down and pooling around the bottom, under the fondant. I'm guessing my buttercream is too soft? Thanks!

I greatly appreciated that video! I'm trying to make a sweet 16 birthday cake for my friend but I can't afford to have a professional cake brought in. I just have a few questions. At what point in the mixing process would you add in color? How much food dye would you suggest for vibrant color? Is it able to sit for a few days or so without being on a cake? Or would you have to use it within a few hours? Is the marshmallow recipe easier to make shapes out of than the regular? How many marshmallows did you have to use for the recipe? Thanks!
@giadimiceli540710 жыл бұрын
You would add color during the last bit of the mixing process or after the fondant is made and knead the color in. The fondant is able to be stored for a few days, but make sure you wrap it completely (maybe even two layers) in plastic wrap. It becomes harder when refrigerated so you would have to let it get back to room temperature before using. I find them both to be pretty similar, but if you're going to use the fondant mainly for figures I put a bit more powdered sugar in to make it stiffer so it will hold up.It also tastes about twice as good as the corn syrup recipes. Mostly a bag of marshmallows will do the trick, or to save yourself from the melting process, you can use marshmallow fluff. I prefer a pound bag of marshmallows or a pound container of fluff. Hope I helped!

shortening is a solid oil... you will find it in the baking aisle near the the other oils. I find corn syrup near the syrup you use on pancakes,, but it is clear, it will often say "Karo syrup" on it.
