Any advice on how to tame the clicky transients? ?
@funtycase20434 жыл бұрын
Maybe never mind, when I crack some juice into the break it all seems to gel nicely
@STRANJAH4 жыл бұрын
@@funtycase2043 OK glad it worked. I had to remove some of the third-party VST's so everybody could use it, so it might sound a bit different from the video. I tried to compensate with additional saturator on the amen.

@@STRANJAH yeah I assumed it was cos of trash being took away, its only when u lower volumes but when cranked up its bang on. Although releasing the full effects chain would be amazing
@nikku11664 жыл бұрын
@@STRANJAH Can we get the project with the Trash Rack included? Or at least get a video on how to set up the rack that's using Trash? I know you mentioned you might in the video, i'm definitely interested to see how you got the Trash2 set up.

The files being deleted was lowkey a blessing because I had to go find and download the breaks myself and save them process them and convert to midi then follow along. Took me 2 hrs to get through this one and I thought I already knew how to chop the break. So much valuable info man.

Right that’s it, I can’t take this no more. I’ve downloaded the live trial. Got an old midi keyboard and a asio sound card. I can revisit the early 90s for 90 days. See what happens me and amen 🔊🎶♥️

I find when I'm NOT using the amen break, I have a real hard time making my choppage sound smooth - in other words it always sounds too "jumpy and stuttery". More like the out there Squarepusher tracks and less like the dope 90s Remarc chunes. I would love to see a video on how to make "flowy" choppage when you aren't repeating a 2 or 4 bar pattern - I want to go all over the place with the chops like Soundmurderer! Or another cool tutorial idea would be to take a classic choppage song and break down the chops throughout - kind of like you did with the classic amen patterns vid - but not just the single pattern - over the course of all of the stanzas on the record. Keep making dope videos Stranjah!

Not my absolute fav (I think every question about something you really love starting with What's your top..." is virtually impossible to answer), but something that always comes to mind is Amit - Operator, this amen is used in more in some sort of dub/dubstep/slow jungle-vibe but the way that amen enters the track remains ridiculously satisfying to me.

Thank you so much, dude. Literally, the best tutorials of anyone out there and I've watched heaps. Such great content! Inspired me into great music-making session getting down of presets in Logic. One cool idea I'm sure you can do very easy in Ableton is to have all the different jungle patterns you've created as different Midi clips. Hey bubba. It's a delight to discover your channel - You're repping UK underground like a mofo. I'm an old codger & original Junglist - as a teen I used to buy records from Ray Keith himself ! @ Blackmarket Records in Soho, London as far back as '95 - I was a regular at Metalheadz's Sunday Sessions @ the Blue Note as well as Bukem's Speed nights @ the Mars Bar in Tottenham. Wish you could have been there - Seminal times! Believe me when I tell you - you're a credit to the genre and I salute you for keeping the skills and vibe alive - for a more global & newer audience...as well as teaching this ol' dog a few tricks. Haha! Cheers & much love STRANJAH - keep the fire burning brother. xx
