@@faktanimasi I think it's because of the Ditto panel being unoptimized and the very heavy transparency and blur effects being splatted everywhere. Also, my computer is about half the specs of your computer so it's too intense for my computer.

this is one of the reasons kde is my favorite desktop environment, it's so flexible and customizable. you can make it to whatever you want, even macos (as used in this example), windows, gnome, or unity. also i previously had issues with the control panel widget. it might have been an issue with me using ubuntu instead of arch/manjaro, so that might be my first troubleshooting step.

Worked out well I was able to get rid of Win10 today and I'm now running KDE with this theme it's exactly what I was looking for to move past being a windows user. Now finally no more update issues, limited space, extra bulk in the software department and it looks good. AND I can go back to any themes I want right out of the box. our distribution is actually still based upon gnome but after this tech demonstration we think about switching to KDE. Easier to set up and customize and it has a functional mac-like Global Menue (the gnome Extension for this is not maintained since 2017 and like this buggy as hell and not usable) - our current Version "Catalinux" is still with the look&feel of macOS 10.15 - new Version (weather with KDE or gnome as base we will decide this week) will be out September or October. @@shadanghamgosar if you are on manjaro, just use add/remove programs with enabled AUR. If you are on arch, you need to enable AUR, and use AUR package manager such as yay. Everything about it is on arch wiki, hope you can cope with it without me copy-pasting wiki.

The only issue I'm experiencing is that the distro doesn't allow me to change the resolution of the screen, which is insanely high, so many things, including the upper bar are way too small. If you use plasma under Xorg, you can go into a terminal and type "xrandr -s x". It can't take any resolution though, you can just type xrandr without anything else to see a list of possible resolutions. If you use wayland, then I don't know how to do it. You should probably search for something like "resolution" in the plasma settings.

Manjaro user here, and manjaro out of the box is ugly as fuck, KDE version has horrible icons, shit fonts and the layers of stached menus is a no no, only has blur effect (I don't like blur but it's something more personal). Gnome is even worse, looks 15 years old with adwaita theme/icons (btw I use gnome, but custom theme Mcata and icons big sur ). XFCE looks like win95.

The point I can give for gnome is that they built the best workflow period, it´s even better than macOS, less intuitive, but when you get into there's nothing better.(in especial with touchpads with gestures)

Fun fact: The North Korean Linux "Red Star" uses KDE and has been modified heavily to be like MacOS including having a global menu (not sure compatibility or copyright issues makes Linux doesn't have this)

@@luxembourger well, somewhat-alike desktop switching with *trackpad* can be achieved with a great utility called Fusuma - with a quick swipe, difference will be unnoticeable :) Haven't used magic mouse because charging port located on bottom annoys me

I'm curious if KDE can replicate the global keyboard shortcuts that MacOS has. Gnome is about 90% MacOS keyboard shortcuts out of the box on pretty much any distro that it comes with. But years ago when I had last tried KDE, I felt like I was always fighting the keyboard shortcuts in KDE to turn it from Windows style shortcuts to MacOS style shortcuts. For example, alt/command+tab should switch between applications, not windows, and alt/command+` should switch between windows of the same application.

You forgot the main part: Typography. Noto Sans is not that suitable for this style, I recommend using Inter font, it's very much like San Francisco Font and what's better: completely open source.

Any interface with a dock and a menu bar on a laptop is always an annoying one to me. That's why MacBooks don't work for me. On a huge screen, the MacOS interface is alright, but for my laptop, I use Linux Mint.
