Hi - thanks for a fantastic video! Any idea how to avoid clicking on the looped sessions when it has been dragged up from the looper?
@wowflower10 күн бұрын
i've never come across this issue but have heard about it from others. a slightly tedious way to fix that click would be to drag the loop into arrangement view and do little fades on each end of the loop. there will be an audible break in the loop but anything is better then that pesky click sound. a friend of mine who ran into this issue realized he was using the looper in arrangement view. the problem stopped when he started messing about it the clip view. the looper seems to create seamless loops easier in clip view hope this helps!

Thank you! looper has always been a bit of a mystery for me. One of the less intuitive devices - your video worked a treat though. I ended up looping a Saw tooth chord which then turned into a dubby techno track. Wherever the muse takes you I guess 😅

exactly! the looper makes all the decisions lol

Hi, Thank you for sharing this tutorial. What sort of flute do u use & midi controller ? Kind regards.
@wowflower2 жыл бұрын
its just a random native american flute ingot for like 40 bucks- the midi controller i use is an akai midimix!

I'm quite new to Ableton/session view so sorry if this is a dumb question... When you drag from looper into the session does this convert midi from a VST into an audio track? Thus easing the CPU load but then meaning you are committed and can't alter notes? Hopefully my question makes sense. Thanks for the chill upload either way.
@wowflower2 ай бұрын
@@Cenotaff yes! the looper itself runs on audio not midi. so by the time your loop is ready to drag it’s already all baked into one audio file. you just drag the audio file out into clip or session view. the clips timing will automatically be set to re-pitch - as if it was a tape loop

Thanks for this video! I've never quite known how/what to do with the looper tool in ableton, I'd always assumed that creating ambient music must have something to do with using the randomize to generate notes. I'm glad to have a new tool in my arsenal to work with!
@wowflower6 ай бұрын
randomize is a lot of fun but i've always preferred laying in the notes like this. glad you enjoyed!

Are you able to automate FX for each «track» that makes up the loop individually when using this technique? Might be a stupid question as I saw you reply to someone else saying everything goes on one audio track, so going by that I guess not… I don’t use Ableton (yet) so not familiar with how these addons work.
@wowflower2 ай бұрын
not a dumb question but you are correct!! it's just a log of stereo audio. if you have serato you could separate stems but the fun of this method is the commitment / surprising chords you didn't know you had in you!
@Vingul2 ай бұрын
@@wowflower Okay, cool cool! Nothing wrong with commitment and surprise, I should "jam"/experiment in that way more myself. Thanks for the reply.

the start of my recorded loops always make a small crackling sound that doesnt go away, no matter how many times i rerecord, it´s always there. any tip on how this can be solved? great video.
@wowflower6 ай бұрын
i've had a friend with this same issue and we couldn't find a solution. i assumed it had something to do with using the looper in session mode as apposed to clip mode. a tedious work around is to go in and trim the beginning and ends of each clip to make them seamless whenever i hear those clicks i tend to ignore them and fix them later when i track the finished song
@lessthemess25 күн бұрын
Is there a way to do this without the Operator, I only have the standard version Ableton.
@wowflower25 күн бұрын
yeah any plug in or vst or midi instrument that makes noise will be received by the looper
