Hi, Leah. Thank you so much for your efforts and these wonderful tutorials. I usually view them from your page rather than KZbin. I have never baked in my life, but living in Minnesota I was a bit home sick for some good poppy seed roll. I recently acquired a stand mixer, so I decided to give your recipe for yeast dough a try, and then of course watched your poppy seed roll recipe. I am so excited! My 'experiment' produced PERFECT poppy seed rolls. Wow. Even my east coast relatives could not believe that "I" made them. :) I also made chocolate Babka, which came out very well, although next time I may use a little bit less chocolate. Delicious! You are awesome!

Yeasted Sweet Dough Ingredients: * 1/4 cup warm water * 2 packages yeast * 1/2 cup lukewarm soy milk (or real milk if dairy is okay) * 1/2 cup sugar * 1 teaspoon salt * 3 eggs * 1/2 cup margarine, room temperature * 4 1/2 - 5 cups of all purpose or bread flour Dissolve the yeast in the water. Let it rest and bubble for a while. Add the milk, sugar, salt, eggs, margarine and half the flour. Mix by hand with a wooden spoon or beat with a hand mixer. Add the remaining flour, a little at a time, to form a soft dough. It shouldn't be sticky but it shouldn't be too stiff. Knead the dough with a dough hook or by hand until very smooth, about 10 minutes. The dough will stretch without tearing when kneaded enough. Grease a bowl, add the dough upside down, and turn to have oiled side up. Cover with a tea towel until double in bulk. Shape into desired shape. This is an extra rich yeast dough perfect for many baked goods; babka, cinnamon rolls, coffee cakes, etc. I've been making it forever always with great results. We've made a how-to video to make this perfect dough. Watch it here! It'll open up a whole new world of desserts; most of which can be made dairy-free. If you've made challah, you can make this dough ~ give it a try.

would this recipe work if I use gluten free flour? Also, would using my stand mixer save me some prep time?

Can I prepare the dough a day in advance, keep in the fridge and then make my cinnamon rolls or babka?

All my recipes are on my blog with the same name. I'll post in the description...bake at 350 until light golden brown. Rotate in the oven if color is uneven. Thanks for watching!

Hi. I can't find the recipe for the sweet yeast dough on your website. I can only find the recipe for the walnut filling. Please help. Thanks.

Is there a reason why your recipe/tutorial is not scaled? You just list ingredients. Thanks

I don't see how margarine could be considered Kosher. And soy milk is a misnomer(partial lie). It is actually soy juice. Milk comes from mammals and not from plants...
