Should the water, milk, eggs and butter all be room temperature when mixing? How soft should the butter be?

Niki Lea Do you mean oil ? I don’t use milk and butter for cake batter. White eggs should be kept in the fridge until using.

Not completely accurate. An almond macaroon is now more commonly known by its French name, macaron. A coconut macaroon is a different thing, as you say.

Thanks for letting me know but for this type of cake with drawing decorations on top, I have to take out from the pan while it's hot, otherwise the drawings will be peeled off.
