I have to say, I wish I had found this series of videos a week ago. I had been banging my head against the wall with Oracle's Virtual Box and their configuration. After thinking it just wasn't going to run macOS on a virtual machine and having numerous people tell me it was because of my high end NVIDIA Video card I nearly gave up. Then I remembered using VMWare Player for some Windows 11 Beta builds a while back. I looked to see if there was a way of getting an Apple VM spun up and here is this guy saying this is how you do that in easy to follow steps! Everything from installation of the OS to making it full screen. You my good sir deserve a drink and a fine meal tonight! Thank You!

The tools work but how is your vm so fast? Mine is really laggy even after installing the vm tools

It’s not that fast in my computer as well. But I have to do video editing to make video short.

Very nice workaround. My mouse issue seems fine. I'm running 16GB RAM w/8 cores on my vm. I can get sound output/input which I'm impressed with. No Bluetooth or WIFI. I'm connecting via VMNET8. But still no joy on the display. I do have a 4k monitor, is that a deal breaker? Are there special settings in the .vmx file?

There are few workarounds but I haven’t tested them personally. Open the VMWare Manager and Click on Edit Virtual Machine Settings. Under the Display Tab, tick mark “Accelerate 3D Graphics”. Then you can allocate more Graphics Memory. But I haven’t tested if there’s any significance improvement in the VM. Kindly, let me know if you felt any improvement in the graphics after the above steps.

For the Bluetooth and Wifi, you can use USB Wifi and USB Bluetooth. Those devices get detected in the VM. But I’m afraid Airdrop doesn’t work.

Hello and thanks for the detailed installation tutorial. I followed all your steps and macOS running fine. Is there any way to increase the graphics memory from 128MB to higher or can we use dedicated graphics card(Nvidia) ?
