Piotr Makowski pretty good beat fam, better than what i was expecting. Needs a LOT more variation in the sequencing tho, and the 808 could be a bit louder. Maybe throw in a lead melody on top for the hook so ppl know when its the hook

The reason you’re having trouble creating a chord progression is because it is very rare to hear chords based on a scale that is based in any of the transposed modes. Would be more natural to make the chords in natural minor and then melody in aeolein. Nice result though.
@jgmelody7 жыл бұрын
Melodic minor is a variation, as is the harmonic minor. Natural minor doesn't have the 3 step jump you see in the melodic minor version. I did make a mistake in my original comment though, Aeolian is the natural minor scale. Basically, the point I was trying to make was that you should only write chord progressions in Ionian and Aeolian until you have a better understanding of non-standard modal progressions. Go crazy with your melodies though!

It's bad but as I said, you can definitely work with it. A little gross beats and some reverb should do the job tbh. But as soon as you can, get keyscape or a better plugin as soon as possible. I've been tryna get those too but I'm broke asf... You can crack them but with keyscape is a lil harder. But just get good with what you have. That's what I had to do at least

jo, the music theory definitely helps, and playing a bit of piano is really halpful too, especially for those piano focused beats. Might even be worth to start playing a classical instrument, will definitely give you more feeling for it.

Hey man, just a small suggestion, whenever you have the time learn your major (Ionian) scales for all keys (pattern of Whole Step-Whole Step-Half Step, WS, WS, WS, HS), it'll take you around thirty minutes or so and will help you tremendously. The key of Aeolian (Ay-oh-lee-uhn, aha) is also knows as the minor scale; you could look at is a major scale with a flat third, flat sixth, and flat seventh. (In the key of C: C, D, E flat, F, G, A flat, and B flat. Also the relative major of E flat.) i noticed your other instruments, notably your bassline, really clashed because you used "E" instead of "E flat" a lot or occasionally played B instead of B flat, which even causes more tension since, not only to the listener it becomes out of key, but adds this feeling of tension since B and C are a semitone apart (anything a semitone apart usually causes a lot of tension most notably the "Psycho" sound of playing F and F# together. TL;DR: awesome video but when have time, learn your scales and music becomes 95% easier ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Keep on the great work though, stuff's super awesome!

Hey, here's an idea for your future videos. It may be helpful to some people if you somehow tracked your keypresses or just edit them onto the screen so people can see all of the shortcuts you use. I know you say them, but sometimes it can be a little hard to follow when you say them. As a new FL user, it seems like knowing a lot of them would be helpful, and it would be a good way to show people the best way to utilize them and implement them into your workflow. That would be awesome, keep up the great content!
