Hate to say it but this is pretty much fake, its not "generating" any power its taking current form that 12v power supply and converting either into a higher violtage (very innefficent to do it this way) or they are supplying more than 12 volts. The creator did not link any sources for how they made the engine part of this design so I can only presume that the plastic looking engine pieces are for decoration and dont use actual fuel as there are no pistons involved and no combustion involved. The reason the motor slows down as the light turns on is due to more resistance being made theres something that really explains electronics like this called spintronics, its a good christmas gift aswell.
