Finally! I've been using the a spreadsheet based off of the last video. Picked up a few new things from this one and anxious to see how it affects my process. My only question would be how do you adjust projections based off wOBA, ISO, etc? I'm assuming that's in the advance course?

The "problem" with using these, is how do you incorporate them? How does wOBA translate to fantasy points? You could use it just like any other stat --- set the league average baseline and weigh off it!

I have tried to follow the guide and when I get to the hitters tab it just will not work. I am using excel 19. It must be a problem with how I am transferring the players to to the page because when I enter the function code it just will not work. I am by no means a excel expert, far from it. But I follow the directions and no luck. I really do like the spread sheet but I can't for the life of me get this to work. I have spent a lot of time on this and it is frustrating.

Hi Rick - great video, do you have to re-create the connection to Fangraphs every day for probable pitchers? The date in the URL is messing with my import in excel. Any workarounds? If it's a paid video then point me in the right direction. Thanks

I know that this is free information and I get that you probably don't check back often but I would hope that you would respond in some fashion when someone has a question or problem. I cannot get past the Hitters tab. I have tried many times and started over multiple times and every time I get to the hitters tab I have the same problem. When I put the = in the players column and go to the salaries page and click on the name column and the go back to the hitters tab under players name it shows =Hitters!C2. Even if I change it to the proper function code it will bring up the players but the rest of the columns will not download properly,. Can you give any suggestions?

Hey rick . great teaching but i got stuck when trying to erase the pitchers on the hitters it would not delete or a row would move up but name and position still there. I think since baseball is so volatile it might be worth it to move away from projections and use the metrics that matter the most such as wOBA or ISO. Park factor is important but I think something like a last 7 & last 14 would be much more useful but that’s just me. Great video I am going to move away from Google sheets and start using Microsoft Word especially come football season

Completely agree - I like to use "player scores" or a "range of outcomes" in baseball. That way I have a floor, median and ceiling projections.

Sure - it's 95% the same. Just use the FD salaries and scoring system in place of DK.

In theory, it's 98% the same. It would just be using the export sheet from those sites and updating the scoring system. That's basically it!

Thanks for the vid. Just a useful tip with using vlookup: if you use columns() to count the columns instead of manually counting and entering the columns, it will make using vlookup a lot easier. That way things become dynamic, the formulas won't need to be updated every time a column is added or removed. Also won't need to constantly be counting columns. I use columns every single time I use vlookup. =vlookup(name, range, columns(column range), true/false)
