How To Make Money Buying/Selling Antiques with David Harper (Bargain Hunt, Antiques Road Trip) Episode 2.
In this video I’ll talk you through the buying of a large late 19th century majolica stick stand (umbrella stand) I’ll tell you how much a paid for it and how I work out how much to sell it for.
You can apply all my tips to any items you buy and sell, whether it be something like this, a piece of antique furniture, a painting, or silver items...it really doesn’t matter what it is, the same principles apply.

Yes you have to factor in time, petrol and auction costs - so priced for profit is a really important formula and as you say you could end up owning everything thank you so much interesting

When setting margins for quality items that you got for a great price you have to factor in the mistakes you have bought and will buy in the future, I’m always learning and quite often learning by mistakes 😆.

I love ceramic stick stands. I have a blue Burmantofts one in my hallway I paid £40 for. Think your price is about right. Its strange but jardinieres & stands are worth double when sold matched together. Stick stands can stilll be cheap but I doubt they will be long term, they look too good in the right home.
