You don't have to set the keys for sim rate. The default is holding down "Alt + R" and either the "plus" or "minus" on the numpad.

The problem I am having is I get penalties for missed atc communication because the sim rate is high. Because it is in fast-forward. I don't have time to respond.

I’ve just been taking the penalty if I miss it, but what you could do is go to the assisted options and enable copilot ATC, in theory they should take care of it then.

Common one is only having one fuel tank selected.

I wonder why people would want to make quick cash in MSFS2024 anyways, since the core "gameplay" is to fly an airplane. If it is to have all airplanes available in career mode, then cheats would do the job too.

You still fly, this is more about skipping cruise without penalty. But each to their own.

@@dorlis1 No, I don't play it the "right" way. I just came across on this video by coincidence and was just wondering about this thought that I had at that moment and felt like to share my thought. People can play their games however they want. Maybe its just a bit funny to me, that it would become a thing to cash in quick money in a microsoft flight simulator. Atleast, it gave me a little smile, that everything comes around eventually at some time. Again, if people have fun with it, sure, I am the last person to dictate something.

It's like in World of Warcraft classic, people rush to each the top level, and now every one is at the end of the game and the server is dead, no option but to start again in a new server. When the point of classic was to enjoy the leveling experience.

This one has come up a few times. Check you are using both tanks. Also not running engines in the red. If you check the comments there might be a couple more suggestions. 2024 is also just a little buggy

I keep getting an error code, every single time I play a cargo mission. Was just about to land after a 1h 30 flight and it crashed.

I’ve had the odd crash where the sim just exits back to windows too. They definitely still have quite a bit to iron out. Weird that you get it only with cargo

@ Definitely, I’m playing now. My 172 has no sound, I got 10 overflying airport notifications in a row. So my reputation will definitely take a hit. I went from S tier to b tier in one go after my last flight. I think I’m going to a break from career mode for a while

If you search “sim” in controls you’ll see there’s both increase and decrease. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be an indicator onscreen so you have to keep track of how much you increased it by.

@@pickledpancake I have heard of people using the stopwatch as a gauge for whether or not you are in real time or still sped up/slowed down. I haven't tried it yet, but apparently if you start it when you are getting ready for takeoff the clock will be displayed running on screen the whole flight. That makes it easy as you can see the seconds ticking.

Been ok for me. Make sure you use both tanks and I use heading auto pilot over nav. Nav seems to have bugs

Probably fuel running out. Also remember that the sim rate doubles each time you hit it. So hit it once = 2x. Twice = 4×. Three times 8× etc. So the plane will be very sensitive to any turbulence and autopilot won't respond quickly enough.

Interesting. Could be fuel, you can see the level so easy to check, but also, maybe you have the same key bindings for engine start?

this happens to me as well ... before you start make sure the fuel selector is on like balanced or all on the plane and not just on a specfic tank so that it takes fuel from all sides

I also use the accelarated sim rate and I also get the situation where the airplane simply crashes to the ground. I am not certain why that is. It’s not fuel related. At least not for me. It seems to be more frequent on longer flights (4 to 5 hrs) related to medium cargo missions with the Cesssna Caravan. Very annoying. This feature was working perfectly in FSX.

I think there’s just lots of bugs to sort out. I’m having issues with ATC also. The base of a great game is there, just a lot of kinks to work through

Definitely a bug related issue. The standard on a longer flight seems to be no more than 2x speed for auto pilot to handle. Although I have had some flights where I went up to 3x and it held for a while. I have to keep an eye on it though so when it starts to flop around I can slow it down and allow it to stabilize.
