Just personally think it needs to be mentioned to newcomers that the PSA membership is over $100 AND Ebay fees with no additional ad fees on $1400 is about $185. Not to mention taxes on profits over $600 in a calendar year. So I wouldn't go in expecting to hit the moon just because I was shooting at it.

@tpokepulls19 күн бұрын
One thing he missed on the grading prices is even if you’re a member, the $14.99/card price is bulk. You have to send a minimum of 20 cards in that are worth less than $200. It’s $18.99/card with a minimum of 20 cards and a $500 max value. If you send in less than 20, you’ll be paying minimum $24.99/card depending on value and turn around time

@miguelgalarza849919 күн бұрын
This was helpful. And I usually grade if there is a highly chance at a PSA 10. I'm also a sealed collector so if anyone really wants a card i recommend just buy singles and then grade it. Pulling is fun but banking on pulling the card on just buying packs... it may not workout. My daughter pulled the Pikachu SIR in just 13 packs but that is extreme luck. But this is a good strategy. Buy singles and grade them. Also buy from trusted sellers

The example cards in this video seem problematic because the PSA 9 values wouldn't cover the cost of grading over the price of the raw card. There are definitely a lot of cards where the PSA 9 value would cover the $15 price of grading over the raw price. Those are the cards you should grade, provided you think they have a shot at a PSA 10. Grading anything you know to have defects is not wise -- once you get down to PSA 8, you've just flushed the grading fee down the drain and will need to crack the card to get the best price. So, you send in a pile of cards you think should get a 10 -- half will, half will get a 9, with probably 2% getting a PSA 8. This formula will yield very good results, I think.

I don’t understand why people think the risk is low when you roll the dice with PSA getting a PSA9 vs 10. You pay $15 to grade and if you get a PSA9 it pretty much means you are down $12-15 depending on if you bulk graded. Boxes, tape, labels, shipping, and insurance if you have a ton of value means you can lose even more. If you get all PSA10s you will profit but a few PSA9s can kill your profit.

Thanks for doing this video. This is the kind of thing that could help correct the inflated Pokemon market and get more people in the game. It may make some people mad, but that’s just because they don’t want people cutting into their profits. Understandable, but ultimately flawed reasoning.

@RealDhanusaur19 күн бұрын
@@agrahamg19 honestly I think SIR charizard from obsidian flames is a great card to grade. The multiplier for a PSA 10 compared to the raw is very high (5.9x) and a psa 9 still roughly recoups your initial investment. Also it being a modern card, you are more likely to get your hands on a decent copy that is at least a 9

I love PokeVault why does no reseller ever mention Taxes? Please guys, if you're into reselling you need to put away 30-40% of your profits for taxes. And if you do cash transactions, just don't go crazy with your profits because the IRS will find out. Also, keep receipts of your expenses because (Shipping, materials, heck even your cards) a lot of it can be tax deductible to help ease the pain at the beginning of tax season lol

Could you please cover how to combat the tax situation. For example. For those people who don’t have a small business, we won’t get taxed on anything UNDER 600 bucks. In the other hand, anything OVER 600 we will get hit pretty damn hard by the tax man. Could you do some explanation on this?
@TheBeeWolf19 күн бұрын
Just "show a loss" come tax time. I keep receipts to be safe but all you do come tax time with your 1099 is show that you "lost money" by entering in how much you spent through the year. I bet you used gas to drive and get some of your cards. That is a cost right off along with anything under the sun involved with buying cards. Penny sleeves, stamps, you name it and it can be written off. Bought some cards at Walmart? Well whatever else I bought on that receipt is going into the total spent as well lol. Two years of selling large quantities and my taxes have not been hit negatively.

I don’t think this is sound advice. I don’t think the conditions or the quality of hidden fates is as high or good as you think they are to take the risk of buying multiples from the internet to try and get 10s. Most likely most of them will grade 9s. The sun and moon era is notoriously bad for quality of cards. Now hidden fates may have had better quality, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk of trusting TCGplayer or eBay sellers to get these, as you always lose money unless you get a 10. Now I know you handle your cards very carefully so it’s probably quite likely any hidden fates coming from you could be a 10. But this is where it feels a little bit of a forced video as we know you have a big stash of hidden fates you can move every stream. Would be better to try and explore cards with higher multipliers and lower capital cost so that you don’t put your less experienced viewers at risk of losing money and being stuck with a bunch of PSA9s. No shade, just my honest opinion.
