This is where you’ve been ! Ah hah ! Crazy in depth info here ! 🎉🎉🎉 now I don’t have to do a video cuz boy those comments don’t stop. How do you sell your stuff I can’t sell anything ??? lol 😂 I always just reply like this , what are you doing to sell them ?? Are you adding your own touch to them ?? Are you just posting and wishing yourself luck , it’s not that the items aren’t selling , it’s the fact that you aren’t selling the items . And that’s a fact , how many times a day do you share your item or online shop on your social media sites ?? How many of your friends do you ask to share your items on social media ? Do you market your items ? Are you a squeeky wheel that needs greasing ??? Are you really putting in an effort to sell your items ? Are you using tags and keywords ? Are you taking the best photos and video staging your items ? Ask yourself these questions and it should all make sense . Sorry for the paragraph

Hahaha I love the comments escaping from the homies!! I get the same questions, especially on the video I made about Etsy. So I figured I would make one big video to cover all the questions so I can just say here watch this video!

Thank you for such Expert Advice.!!! I had to say that. Not just because you said you're not, but mostly because you said you weren't. 😎 Anyways, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time outta your busy schedule to keep doing videos, encouraging others to make stuff, and trying stuff that they're not sure they can do. I'm sure you've influenced people to take up a hobby they were more than a little afraid to. I'm 58yrs old. When I was 6yrs old, I helped my Grand Father make a step stool, that he placed in the bathroom so that my younger cousins could use the bathroom sink more easily.

I use the free priority boxes and just wrap them in brown wrapping paper to ship however I want. You can still use those free boxes without using the shipping method on the post office boxes. I always do that especially with those smaller priority boxes they have, just wrap them and ship them with a cheaper rate.
@jascogoods8 күн бұрын
That is really smart!! Where were you when i was buying all them boxes! 😂😂😂 thank you for the advice, I am sure it will help others.
@illiniwood7 күн бұрын
You'll get away with this until you don't. When you get caught, your customer won't be getting their product. You'll also be red flagged for violation of their shipping policy. Every time you ship, it will be sorted for inspection. Your customer will be lucky to get their paid product in the same month. You may not be caught for years, but when you do, you'll wish you hadn't. P.S....UPS works in tandem with USPS. What you're doing isn't worth the risk.

If I understand you correctly, this is America, the land of competition, and as-such, if someone is making it on Etsy and you can make the same thing they are making, but better, have at-it and take some of their customers. Sounds simple enough. After all, it’s going to cause them to up their game, and everyone wins, including the customers.
@jascogoods8 күн бұрын
Yes that was well said. I don't think you should copy anyone exactly but in reality how many items on etsy are original thoughts? Most of it is copied from one place or another. But just like in the real world if you see something that you could make better that people like then go for it. Thank you for the comment.

Excellent info so far, will have to finish it tomorrow. Of the items I have sold on Etsy so far, shipping is what made me buy that first bottle of lotion from ya. $9 for a small flat rate box???

Use usps ground advantage bro. It's pretty affordable. Just make your own box or get cheap boxes.

Thank you! This is very helpful. You provided a great starting place and info on stuff i need to know, but didn't think about. Like paying that uncle sam guy, seeing if my state requires a business license. One question. Does etsy take their part out of what they pay you, or do you go in and pay them separately?
@jascogoods8 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment. I am glad the information was helpful. Yes etsy takes their part out before they pay you. But shipping comes out of your money after if you ship the item after you get paid.

Thanks for the info. I've been on the fence about whether or not I should sell on ETSY for a while now. My big hang-up is whether or not I want to deal with packing and shipping a bunch of stuff. Then again, I've also been considering starting a pooper scooper business cuz those guys make good money for such a silly job. 🤣 Basically, I just want to supplement my income by about $30-50k per year and I'm trying to decide the best way to do it. Decisions decisions......
@jascogoods8 күн бұрын
The pooper scooper business sounds like a lot less crap to deal with!! 😂😂😂 I guess its whatever you enjoy more. I'm guessing its woodworking unless you have a thing for poo!! You could do both and dry the poo out and sell it on etsy as facilized Dino doo doo!!!😂 you would be an entre-manure!!!😂

I bought boxes in bulk from Uline. I did not compare prices with Amazon.
@jascogoods8 күн бұрын
Yea i got them from Uline a few times too because they are cheaper than amazon and have more of a selection. The problem I had was they make you pay a fortune for overnight shipping and it ended up being cheaper to look on amazon.
@jjpiatek329415 күн бұрын
When you ship free domestic does that include Hawaii and Alaska? That could get expensive, right?
@dropndeal10 күн бұрын
You can include free shipping to AK, HI, PR, GU, and other US territories as long as the packages can go air freight. This means the US Postal Service only (no FedEx / UPS ground packages). For instance, USPS Ground Advantage (formally first class mail), and any USPS Priority provided packaging. Now, the zone prices may go up, but not that much. Just be absolutely certain to place comments in your listings advising offshore customers to contact you for a shipping quote BEFORE purchasing! I have cancelled / refunded customer orders on both Etsy and eBay for this very reason.

Ok I really appreciate and enjoy your videos but when I watch a lot of these videos and I try to do what its in the video its always different for me. For example, when I go to Etsy and click on FILTERS it doesnt look like yours. Nowhere on my filters does it show best sellers or star sellers. Its just like categories for price, room and featured. Many times when I go to try something, what I see is completely different and thats very frustrating. Not just your videos, others too
