Great video bro.. Its all about being different these days.. Alot of producers afraid to start NEW THINGS. But they'll definitely follow a trend... Thanks for the advice Sean..

Today I tried to do a "when I'm gone"- eminem acoustic cover. It was certainly different, imagine mixing the modern pop techniques with eminem's style, rap with other emotions than angry, or partying. Then there was a fast part that temporarily changed it from marshall sheeran to... b12? the beasty 12, mixing beasty boys when eminem. What you said makes me feel a little better about posting it. Hardcore rap fans probably won't like it, but other creative people might.

What is your opinion on an artist striving to do different types of hip-hop. For example. Say I have a mixtape consisting of positive "Chance the Rapper/KYLE" vibes, but I also have turn up tracks with heavy autotune (Travis Scott/Migos vibes). Do you think that being diverse like that stands out to people or is it too scattered and all over the place for people to take in and decide what you are? I know that Twenty One Pilots don't have a specific genre and that they are all over the place as well, but as a rapper, what do you think on this take?

Yo I agree with your videos all the time, and even this is super useful and true to a degree, but it's sad the first time I comment is when I kinda disagree lol ima hater tho. If your singing sucks, if you have no concept of melody, if you have a bland voice, if you have a story that has been told multiple times, you can STILL be impactful and come off as new because.... kids!! Kids are new lol. So if you really lack in the areas I stated above, I suggest reeaalllyyy doubling down on your writing and your ability to give new perspective lyrically. Drake won at first because his style was new, but there has been better singer/rappers come out who have not gotten as big as him. His voice is boring now, his style is old now, but his writing is still relatable. Same thing sort of applies for kendrick as well, his voice can be monotone, his singing can be very flat alot of the time, but he perfected how to write a verse in a complex enough way to catch attention, and in a relatable enough way to keep attention. Lol Idk just giving an alternative answer to ppl who may be lacking sonnicly. Love your content tho man I've been watching for about a year or so now and I've actually succeeded taking some of your strategies and using them in my own way, so thanks!!!

Like, being more versatile with your sound, not being classified as this kind of rapper or that kind of rapper, being able to collaborate with non rap musicians, etc etc
