You buy the crushed leaves at the store. There is a Mexican brand 2 oz package that would do the trick. By El Guapo They usually have a section next to other spices. This package says "Whole Oregano"

never heard of this stuff til last yr. bin using it on my herpe sores & hell yeah it works. if u put a few drops mixed w/ coconut oil in a glass of water it feels like your torso is opening up, like using vaper-rub on your chest.

With dry oregano it's equal amounts of oregano and oil. But with fresh? You need more of the fresh than dry herb? Usually in recipes, if it's 1 teaspoon of dry, that equals 1 Tablespoon of fresh. What about here? Thank you.

@@standup4332 The longer you heat it and the higher heat you use, the more it will tend the inactivate the compounds. Some people choose to place the oil of oregano bottle in a sunny window to speed the process. This additional heat seems to be gentle enough of a "boost" without inactivating the volatile compounds.

wo thousand years ago, pennyroyal was the herb used to terminate unwanted pregnancies. Dr. Art Tucker, research professor at Delaware State University and author of The Big Book of Herbs , says that pennyroyal induces abortions by first damaging the mother's liver. Death sometimes follows. In a well-documented case from 1994, a college student who drank only 2 teaspoons of pennyroyal oil in teas over a two-day period died from it. In 1992, a healthy dog died after licking a similar amount from its fur. Obviously, there are good reasons to leave pennyroyal oil alone. If a pet or person could be expecting, don't use pennyroyal at all. As a pest repellent. Crushed pennyroyal stems stuck in your hat and pockets really will repel gnats and mosquitoes. Dog owners often see their dogs rolling in pennyroyal patches, and dog instincts can usually be trusted.

Hi Marci just wanted to let you know that you can most likely order oregano from an online nursery and grow it your self in a pot if you want to. Someone just gave me an oregano plant. I re-potted it. Do I just clip off the bigger leaves, wash it with water, and dry it like you said. When you say dry, you mean leave it out in the sun so it dehydrates itself just like a dried leaf, right ? and then follow your video ? does it matter what kind or olive oil - virgin, extra virgin, light, etc..Thanks for you time

This is not "essential" oil, but "infused" oil. Infused oil is good for many things, and I appreciate this vid. But if you Google the difference between essential and infused oils, you will understand more. Short answer is that essential oil is far more concentrated. And further, oregano essential oil must be diluted for use, as it is too "hot" without dilution. So infused oil, in my opinion, can be used for many of the same applications as essential, without so much need for dilution. (doTERRA is essential oil)

My mom made me drink it as tea, along with guava leaves to cure my fever. I remember I had a terrible fever when I was very young like 6 or 7. She was having a hard time because as a stubborn child I don't want to take medicines. I hate the taste and smell of syrup much more taking them. I hated them so much. I can still remember my mom put oregano leaves with some of its extracts at my back and pasted it with masking tape. It totally healed me the next day. I think it's also useful for muscle pain.

Oil of oregano doesn't actually have oregano in it. It's carvacrol. They nicknamed it oregano oil because it smells like oregano. This is a recipe for "oregano leaf oil." Thought I'd clear that up. I tell clients to take carvacol and they keep wasting their money on oregano leaf oil. Most confusing :)

Donna61111 that person is wrong. Oregano oil most definitely has oregano in it. One of the active chemicals in oregano is carvocrol....so it DOES have carvocrol in it as well. I'm not sure how that person is so uninformed as to say what they said. Total ignorance. Google it if you don't believe me.
