I enjoyed the video and will try it. I have used single clay pots, a wine bottle cork, and a flat stone to cover the pots. They don't hold as much water but are extremely easy.

I built ollas using this exact configuration. The issue I had was I would pour water into the funnel pot, and the drain holes were not wide enough to let the air bubbles out so that the water could drain into the main chamber efficiently. It took a few minutes of babysitting to get the thing full. If I were going to do it again I would probably try widening the hole with a ceramic hole saw so that I can easily fill the whole thing quickly.

I think that's the trouble I'm having with some of my current ones. Funny, I just thought up doing the "funnel" on top when I make more / adapt my current ones last week, now I see this. 😆 My tool selection is limited. Could maybe one of the sanding wheels (or something?) from / in a Moto Tool kit widen the pot holes you think? Without breaking it hopefully. 😉

@@Kat-kv8mm I'm not experienced enough with cutting terracotta to know if that will work. I just know if you try, be careful with the dust! Very bad for the eyes and lungs.

yes its toxic.

Gorilla Glue is actually rated as one of the safest adhesives ONCE CURED (which the water is what actually cures it). However, if the thought of using Gorilla Glue makes you uneasy, you can also use one of those adhesives that they use in fish tanks!
