I thought it would be nice to build this for kinder gardens or drawing teaching centers but is almost 300 us dollars to build it. A 3d printer besides can print can cost 180 dollars the cheapest ones. Anyway, looks very nice. Maybe with 20x20 or 20x40 profiles can be cheaper.

@Kady DIY, did you ever try to use a fountain pen with this Draw-Bot!? I am building one of these Draw-Bots but I prefer to use a fountain pen. Fountain pens are more economic and they hold more ink, so they can complete larger denser drawings without the need for reloading a fresh pen. The only concern I have is if the rapid lowering the pen would splash the ink onto the medium.

@@Kady3DPrinting There must be a way of dampening the action of servo motors in the firmware. Easier solution would be finding a fountain pen that doesn't splash when crashed to the surface of the media when the servo engages the pen each time.

hello i'm creating the robot, i'm almost finished but on ugs when i try to move the robot on the x or y axis it moves diagonally and when i want to move it diagonally it moves on the x or y axis where could i have been wrong? on the pdf you left on thingiverse there are a couple of useful links to install some extensions that don't work is it possible that the lack of those extensions is the problem?

Hello I made machine but I have 1 problem, Machine works perfectly but after some time(sometimes 20 seconds sometime 1 or 2 min but machine never worked more than 4 5 mins before stopping), I am getting an error saying "error while processing response..." and I have to restart machine and it cannot finish any drawings, I am using chinese arduino and tried reflashing multiple times multiple baudrates, few versions of universal gcode sender and 2 usb cables and always same error and I cant fix it. Can somone help me please?

I’m making the plotter, and the servo motor for the pen does not move correctly. It is wired correctly, and I know my servo works. When given the command to go down (M03 S030;) the servo spins too far and breaks itself, and when given the spindle up command (M05) the servo just turns off.

@@thiphamduy6813 It was a long time ago, so I don't remember exactly. I'm pretty sure that it was an issue with uploading the correct firmware onto the Arduino, so make sure you read the instructions on the thingiverse page VERY carefully.

Change x step/mm and y step/mm due to your motors' step angle. Mine is 1.8 degree and step/mm rates are 83.333.

hmmm when your plugging in the pen servo into the board, i see that you are using 3 single pins and plugging them into differnt places on the board, unlike the 3 pin that are in a straingt line. i cannot really see where your plugging them into. can you clarify which pins plz.
