Thank you I really enjoyed this. Just a comment (since you asked). If building a fire I would always also get some fuel in under the feather sticks. Flames rise but heat also radiates downwards. If you put a bed of twigs, on sticks, on bigger sticks, they will soon catch and do your work for you. You will get a great bed of coals a lot quicker if you have some big chunky sticks or even logs right at the bottom. No point having a load of heat radiate into the cold ground when you’re trying to get the fire going. Thanks again!

I do believe, I have found the Michelangelo of feather sticks. I have seen many beautiful ones that I would put on a wall instead of burn, but yours I would feel shamed to burn. It is very beautiful and by far the best I seen. Mine are not sloppy but surly not that beautiful. Great job and nicely done giving directions.

Such a beautiful job. Those curls are mouth-watering. Hadn't heard about using dead pine under branches. Whenever I have tried to make feather sticks before I had a hard time getting a lot of good curls and kept running into knots. Best video I have seen on feathersticks--you filled in a lot of the blanks I was missing in technique and questions I had. Thanks! Carving the bow side down really will help along with a sharp knife (just ordered a Mora Companion Heavy Duty) and will try it with another recently sharpened knife in my collection.

Ok this makes a lot of sense to me. I can make a decent featherstick but watching this made me realize that when I make them I just keep carving deeper and deeper into the wood instead of moving up the wood in order to get more feathers. Very helpful.
