SchafferSaurus All pour-over coffee makers are simply funnel stands. If you can't appreciate something handmade just because it's simple maybe you should stick to fail videos.

@@theseconddarrin3788 I doubt it's as much being unable to appreciate the simplicity, as much as it is being let down from expecting higher functionality from such an expensive project. Copper piping ain't cheap

Myself as well, friendo. It would be neat to see a coffee brewer that specifically steams the bean in a high pressure chamber, then condenses the newly made coffee steam into coffee.

Beautiful work! One word of advice if I may. Take your time when applying the flux to the tubing. The solder will only flow where the flux has cleaned the copper. If you take your time fluxing, the clean up will be much less tedious. Cheers!

Would you please make a video of a steam punk manual espresso machine? I’m interested in making one; the La Pavoni brand manual espresso machines are simple mechanics but cost $1500. I’d like to see the same design applied with standard plumbing pieces like what you use. Maybe use an old fire extinguisher tank for the boiler, use a dimmer switch on the heating element to control wattage(heat). Attach a pressure gauge and a steam wand. I’d do it if I had the time. Seems like it’d be your cup of tea and it would sure as hell make my day.

The spiral could be fill with water and using a lighter or a candle to boil the water which vaporate on the top of the tube and drops on the coffee.

That's a really beautiful project, should produce really tasty results too. I can imagine a good add on to this would be an automated water delivery system.
@fortunefed87196 жыл бұрын
A sealed Erlenmeyer flask over a candle with a small copper pipe coming out the top would do the trick! As the water boils, the pressure from the vapor would push the water up the pipe and into the coffee. Add a few coils to the pipe and it may be the perfect 200F when it hits the coffee.

my electric 6 cup maker broke like a year ago cuz i forgot to turn it off so i cut the cord off stuck a permanent filter basket in it and boil the water on the stove and pour it in by hand. lol, works great! ... now if i could only figure out away to get the top part to hold more water so i could dump all the water in at once so i could walk away while its dripping thu then it would be even better but for now its works ...

Real coffee lovers make theirs in a plunger pot/French press. A single pass of water through a filter just doesn't cut it in household sizes. Restaurants use commercial sized drip brewers but that process just doesn't seem to translate very well to a smaller home size unit. Once you've had press coffee you'll realize what you've been missing, and the pots don't cost that much.
