I have been negligent in watching ALL of your videos, but I got in a wormhole and watched & rewatched your videos - what GREAT info😂❤. I love your use of the kiddy pool and all the nutritious, water retentive measures. I'm in N. Central Texas and I know all about DRY WEATHER!. Also make my own compost - good stuff😂❤. Thks for staying on top of things and keeping us informed🎉.

Interesting mixture! Sounds like you could mix the 3 basic ingredients perlite, peat and black kow and then add the other items (d.e., moisture control, bone meal, osmocote) based on the plants needs. I live in a normally high rainfall area in zone 9a but this year we've experienced extreme ongoing high temps and drought so the moisture control may or may not work for every plant. I have a couple of tropicals in large containers that need watering 2x/day. The moisture granules would seem a plus. However, geraniums would rot with something that might retain moisture. What are your thoughts on these 2 scenarios?

The watering crystals hold a lot of water considering their size but if the plant needs less water I would adjust the amount of the crystals based on that. I always say check the labels of both plant and crystals. Thanks!!!

Interesting video. I just went to Amazon to see if I could see what the ingredients were. I'd have to do more research about polyacrylamide before I get this. But thanks for explaining what the "mystery" ingredient is in the moisture control Miracle Gro. I wouldn't have known that was in there.

Could we not use vermiculite in place of the soil moistener? That could keep the mixture organic. Thanks!

The moisture control is it similar to Crystal cat litter.

Would this mix retain too much moisture for rosemary/thyme, etc., plants that are prone to root rot?

2 gallons of what?? And what brand? Am 86 and in a wheelchair and can’t shop various stores. What store do you buy it at.

I believe it was perlite. Available at Amazon and also Walmart. Both will deliver. Blessings.

Why perlite instead of vermiculite?
@ZenGardenOasis. Жыл бұрын
Vermiculite tends to hold water more. Perlite allow more drainage.
