I'm enjoying your tool making projects. And thank you for showing the mistakes along with the successes. I'm not an expert, but I think your original design with the neutral rake seems better. It just needs an insert with more built-in relief for clearance. ...Or does nobody make inserts in that shape, that have enough relief? Thanks for sharing!

but you could just slightly reduce the diameter of the cone in the first version of the holder, and there would be a gap. The location of the cutting edge on the diameter line is more correct than in the second variant. (но ты же мог просто немного уменьшить диаметр конуса в первом варианте державки, и был бы зазор. Расположение режущей кромки на линии диаметра более правильное, чем во втором варианте)
