Thanks for the informative video. As a side note: I buy a new external drive every two years for two reasons: - That way, I do not run out of space. - More importantly, since discs get cheaper, I can backup the whole old backup disc onto the new one, then place it in a safe place, e.g. with a family member in their flat und add new backups to the current one. That way, I have backups at various places.

How many discs do you have by now? It will be quite a pile soon!

I use Pika Backup to back up my data to a network-attached storage (NAS) device, and Timeshift for system snapshots. Additionally, I run two custom scripts at boot. The first script employs Rsync to back up my work projects to a 6 TB external USB drive, while the second script utilizes Rclone to perform daily incremental backups of all my data to my cloud service provider

What is the different between this and Synchthing for backup choice?

I built a bash script for this because my data is scattered about. Unfortunately though you gotta be a bit into programming under bash to accomplish this.

I downloaded Pika, and it is in my downloads, but I don't know how to activate it. When I double-click the App, I do not get a button. I am running Ubuntu
