7:54 Pastor, you said the sabbath is the first day of the week, Sunday. Given that scripture is clear that it’s the seventh day of the week, can you expound on how we got to the first day? I know others may say the days aren’t as important, but your word is Order. Exodus 20:8-11 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Just to be clear, I believe what’s important mostly is that we honor Him by resting the same as He did. I believe there is still blessing in the principal of it practiced out. Chic-fil-a, Hobby Lobby, etc are good examples imo of blessing for being closed on sundays.

Constantine the Roman emperor actually made the change of Sunday being the first day of the week. The sabbath actually is on Saturday No other day has ever been sanctified as the day of rest. The Sabbath Day begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Isaiah 58:13-14; 56:1-8; Acts 17:2; Acts 18:4, 11; Luke 4:16; Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:10-12; Hebrews 4:1-11; Genesis 1:5, 13-14; Nehemiah 13:19.

@@ISpeakJesusOverYou I’m aware of the nicean council in 300 AD, and the changes made to the laws. Thank you for your comment. I’m also aware that we are not under law which is why I’m asking my pastor to address this a little more and help us find that proper balance just as the disciples did when they spoke to the Greeks regarding the 4 new laws they were told to keep. Technically those laws would still stand to this day but we simply don’t have full context to understand the meaning of certain ones such as eating foods sacrificed to idols. On that note, I have read that in the day of Nero, he would purposefully sacrifice food to idols and then ask the suspected Christian’s to eat it so as to find them out. If the Christians wouldn’t eat then they knew who they were and that would lead to their persecution. I also know that while we may downplay eating foods to idol based on our limited understanding as to what it meant back then, based on Rev. 2 we shouldn’t downplay what it meant to the early believers. For them, not eating this food signified their loyalty to Christ. “But I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you whose teaching is like that of Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to sin by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin. In a similar way, you have some Nicolaitans among you who follow the same teaching.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ““But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman-that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet-to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she does not want to turn away from her immorality. “Therefore, I will throw her on a bed of suffering, and those who commit adultery with her will suffer greatly unless they repent and turn away from her evil deeds. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am the one who searches out the thoughts and intentions of every person. And I will give to each of you whatever you deserve.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬-‭23‬ ‭NLT‬‬ 2 different churches had the complaint against them in red letters in my Bible for eating food sacrificed to idols. There is a balance for us. Many can see deception and begin to separate from other believers who don’t see it as they begin to believe everyone is in disobedience. I don’t believe that is Jesus’ heart for His body. I do believe that Pastor Greg has been appointed by Almighty to shepherd the flock under his leadership and teaching and the onus is on him as a leader but also on each to prayerfully seek out a proper response through our teacher, Holy Spirit, in the same way that the apostles did when the issue of circumcision was brought to them. They carefully considered, I’ll assume prayer and fasting may have been involved, and came to the decision to which they did. 2 of the laws they gave are mentioned specifically in Rev 2. Not the 10 commandments, but the apostles laws given to the Gentiles.

@@repentedlife2816 I belive people can be convicted on things at different times as the Holy Spirit opens their eyes. I beleive prayer and fasting are the way to find real revaluation to all things of course we take into consideration what people we look to as mentors have to say but at the end of the day they are human as well and as a creature of flesh we can all fall short and this is why our relationship with God is so important. For me I lean into the fact that God's ways are higher than ours and we could never comprehend His ways. So I don't have a need to understand everything I just do the next right thing and follow the Spirit. I wasn't trying to answer anything out of place just merely adding input. May God bless you and smile upon you. 🙏
