Just some advice, it would truly help if we could see what keys you are pressing, I'm still a bit confused where you are doing the keyframes, as Blender is not my main program. I understand what you are doing, but I have a hard time following the commands.

PrettyDoIIs i got lost in the “physics” part of the 3rd method... i didn’t know how he just found the pin group blank... then i just clicked the cloth physics, and scrolled down until i found the “shape” settings... clicked that one and there it is.

Yeah I seem to be having trouble with the third technique, I was wondering if you knew a solution. My empty's are moving properly and I have binded them to the vertices, For some reason when they move to the right, it doesn't move the curtain, only the indices, my curtain just sits there in place even though the indices moved.

Amazing videos! I have an issue tho, when I animate the empties on method 3 it moves only the verts that are attached to them, the rest of the plane isn't moving, why is this happening?

solved: Cloth modifier was above the hook modifiers

2nd way is just the same as 3rd if you pin not full row of vertices but with some intervals

For me the coolest was the last one, but I have a problem, when y hit play everything is fine but theres a vertex in the corner that doesnt move :/

Make sure you select only one vertex. This worked for me.
