There is no official language per say but they prefer English because students are from all over India.

This is not true for all students i am from distance MA in political science after BA in delhi university .i studied lot of books with basics. Only knowledge matters.and bahiya masters me basically students ko sirf kuch recommend books padh leni chaye har area me even one book for each area wo enough he . But ajakl masters even regular or open wale sirf guide book se pass krte he.....

Bhaiya I'm pursuing master's in history from Ramjas, DU. I've two questions, first does master's marks matter in PhD admission? Secondly, regarding DU I've heard ki there's a lot of internal bias and corrupt practices taking place vis a vis PhD admission. Also, some of my classmates often act as nothing more than sycophants. So, there's a High probability that they're likely to get more favour as compared to me because I've not been that regular because of other commitments simultaneously. Please reply bhaiya your insights will be invaluable to me. Thank you.

marks doesn't matter your understanding will.... in exams, interviews, everywhere. to answer 2nd question, i think process there is not at all transparent as it should be. you have to try for different places and there are places where it's more transparent relatively. don't stick to one university only. best of luck
