this ... was exactly what I was looking for. MOdular water / swamp terrain WITH magnets AND resin! It's the perfect project! Thank you for posting it! (Even if I am a little late.) Fantastic job!

The criss-cross grid method to dig out your riverbeds was so simple and genius at the same time, but your tip on the alcohol to disperse resin bubbles left us with our mouths hanging open. We never knew. Thanks!

Thanks for the video! As far as dripping hot glue on something that will easily peal off, I found the soldering mats work extremely well.

I've just binge-watched all your videos and they're great! You've got a lovely, calming Jake Gyllenhaal vibe going on. I particularly loved this project - that is a fantastic looking river. Bravo, sir.

I don’t know what it is but these Jake Gyllenhaal vibes keep getting mentioned to me. 😂 But it has been several years since that last mention lol! Thank you for the river compliment. I really enjoyed the project. New project coming soon (after a year of no projects 😅)

Awesome work. These look so real and the modular capacity just makes it better. That idea of spraying alcohol on the resin is a treat as this is something I have not heard before.
@TableCraftOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a pretty cool tip! I learned it from a job I once had. The funny thing is, the resin I bought recommended that method in the instructions. I’m surprised more people don’t know about it.

Just seeing anything with your Mag-Board is so fascinating. A really unique spin on rivers, keen to see more and more integrated in this system you've developed. You should be really proud of yourself, mate.

I assume the Water effects dont dry clear on parchment paper because it pulls off the waxed surface off of the parchment maybe?
@TableCraftOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I thought about that! The paper isn’t really that waxy though. But something was definitely weird!

The modular waterfalls are a really nice touch. With the right design choices, you could create a modular beaver dam based on this. Or even a dire beaver dam.

Wow, those turned out incredible! You should consider making a foamy splashy base for the bottoms of the waterfalls, so it looks like they are creating a splash no matter what the bottom receiving tile looks like.
@TableCraftOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I considered it haha! I may in the future. And thank you!!
@БородатыйИсполинскийКозодой3 жыл бұрын
It looks just fine! The only thing, maybe it is worth trying to slightly cut the edges of the water streams from the waterfall, so that they do not seem so "square", but more natural)
@TableCraftOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I tapered them more and was going to use water effects to get rid of the straight lines on the sides. I still might give it a try. When I consider changes like this though I tend to use them as is for a while and then tweak them as needed.

Hey there, do you take any order requests?
@MisterTroglodyte2 жыл бұрын
Wow! That end result is soooo awesome looking! 😲Love that the resin shows through to the bottom, actually. So many other crafters do all this work on the riverbed and then completely obscure it with near opaque resin (at least on camera, anyway). The very clear water look (and the stair step effect of those little water falls!) goes perfectly the manicured grass tiles and those great ruin tiles. Are bushes next? 😁
@TableCraftOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! I’m not sure what’s next actually. Bushes are on the list for sure though.
@MJcreated83 жыл бұрын
Nice work! Did you experience the resin melting any of the foam, or was one coat of mod podge sufficient in sealing it?
@TableCraftOfficial3 жыл бұрын
No melting at all. I think with the mod lodge and paint it was no issue at all.
@swagzky8416 Жыл бұрын
My guess would be that the rougher surface of the paper results in a rougher surface of the waterfall. This leads to a higher light scattering and thus to the milky appearance
@butchtakamura3 жыл бұрын
Looks good, but try glueing fluffed out cotton to the bottom of the waterfalls, hides the seems, and will look better overall.
@TableCraftOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I originally was going to add splash at the bottom but there are a lot of things to consider. The heights of all the river water are not consistent (I tried my best) so splashes at the bottom could cause the waterfall to bend. Of course I originally was going to use water effects for the splashes and hadn’t considered cotton. It might work. Overall this is modular terrain and not a diorama so I don’t think I want to take the time. 😅 But I’d love to see how it looks so if you make your own let me know!
