This recipe makes 5 4oz room/linen sprays:
18.4oz water
.40oz polysorbate 20
.20oz preservative (Germall Plus)
1oz fragrance or essential oil
You can purchase 4oz aluminum spray bottles on along with spray nozzles. You can also purchase polysorbate 20 and the preservative on their website too.

Germall plus should be measured in grams not ounces When you use Polysorbate 20 it should be mixed first just with the fragrance oil so it will solubilize correctly

I have already bought tons of fragrance oils from several companies, got some wax and I have some other candle making supplies. I bought a scale but it is a little bigger and it's round. I will search Amazon for the scale you have here for the room supplies

You're so welcome! I would say about a year and when it comes to essential oils, I would do a little research. I don't use them in most of my products so I'm not too familiar with how they break down.

Can witch hazel be used instead of distilled water. I ask because I have a huge amount of witch hazel base

That's a good question! I have not found a recipe using witch hazel and I'm not sure how it would react to the fragrance oil (not essential oils). Maybe make one bottle and see how it works. Test it out and maybe you'll come up with this new way to create room sprays!! :)

It truly depends on your state and county laws. For sure you want to put all ingredients on any product you make. You want your customer to know exactly what they are purchasing. Then put any warning information to protect yourself and customer.

How long does the scent normally last in a room?

It depends on how big the room is and how much you spray. But these are highly fragranced but as with any room spray, the scent will eventually fade over time in a space.

I sell my sprays for $7 each. Make sure that your pricing out your material and then multiple by 3 or 4 (up to you) and that’s the price you should charge.

i made some using just vodka. not sure if that is weaker though the others. i just dont want to buy these ingredients if im not impressed by it.

I've never used vodka and I'm not sure how the fragrance oils would react to it but if it works for you, then keep doing it! :) I use the preservative to prevent bacteria because I sell my sprays. And the poly 20 allows the oil and water to combine.

Most essential oils have antibacterial properties, why would you need that stuff in your room spray?

I do not use essential oils in any of my products at this time. I use only fragrance oils. From what I know, a lot of essential oils have antimicrobial properties however to ensure that your product is free from any type of contamination, you would still want to use a preservative in any water based product that you sell to the public.

But as always, make sure that you research the type of product that you are making for the public and that they are safe no matter what ingredients you choose to use.

Water is a bacteria carrier and you have to use a broad-spectrum preservative that also prevents mold and bacteria essential oils will not do that
