Hay, Is there any way that I can filter Note block by Sheet? Like, if I drag schedule into the sheet, only those numbers will show which are in that drawing area.

Small tip when making these videos. Use the white background in Revit workspace window in lieu of the black. It is a little difficult to see what you are doing on small devices. Otherwise great step by step instructions!

+Chris Moore For sure. We actually use this same technique for a lot of things: Cover sheet general notes, abbreviations list, Plumbing Fixtures 'schedule'... It's pretty flexible once you get used to it.

HI, very helpful and clear tutorial, unfortunately for some reason the text will not transfer to the sheet when entered into the properties. note number and note sheet number work perfectly, at first I thought that I had not clicked the instance so I restarted from scratch but still the same problem. any suggestions ??

i have had some people screw up and copy note 1 to make say 4 and they wiped out the note they wrote for #1. any ideas on how to fix that? its an ID 10 T error, but still an error.

Hi Mark, I really don't have a better answer than "training/education", and maybe "make sure you make people fix their own mistakes, so they learn and only make them once". This is the major weakness of this note method: it's a little less intuitive than dumb text, so it's more vulnerable to ID 10 T / PEBCAK issues. It works best for smaller teams of users - it's a more challenging method to manage when your user group is large, and composed of a lot of non-Revit-only folks (i.e. junior/mid engineers and the occasional precocious PM). ;)

one modification we made was to add to the tag the actual note as well with a visibility link to checkbox so that in plan view you can turn on the note edit it and turn it back off. easier to deal with than the properties window or the schedule
