How To Make Smooth Coasters In Planet Coaster

This is my final smoothing method for Planet Coaster! In my opinion it's the best smoothing method since you don't have to worry about taking so many hours smoothing like the 4m method. Instead with this method you can keep your continuous roll and keep everything smooth and spend an hour or less on one layout!

This was brilliant. I've been playing Planet Coaster for a while now and was never able to consistently make smooth coasters. After testing this out for the first time I was able to build several smooth and highly rated coasters very quickly.

I just got the console version of this game the other day (love it) but for the life of me I could not figure out how to make my transitions and turns smooth. I had no idea the smoothing tool was even a thing and spent forever and a day tweaking my banked rolls to try and fix it. I am so relieved to have this new information lol. Thanks for this.

This saved me hours!!! I was doing 4m method and still was not smooth and was really uging my OCD. Especially with the intamin blits and the winged rolls. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much for this method, the 4m method is time consuming and can make manuvering the track a lot harder. I only had to smooth my coaster once and I was satisfied with the results, thanks!

Good video, I've been playing for several years now and never watched a tutorial but figured, "eh, why not". The method I've come up with is very similar to yours. I basically do the same thing but occasionally I will incorporate a bit of the "delete and reconnect" method. I've never been a fan of the 4m method though, glad to see someone else finding success in a different method.

Hey! Thanks for showing me this! I've been looking for a way to make really smooth coasters in Planet Coaster. A method that isn't the 4 meter method, because I think the 4m method takes too long, and is no longer the best way to smooth coasters in Planet Coaster after the smooth tool got updated. Your method looks much better. Also, I never used the banking offset when building coasters, but seeing what it does now, I think I'll use it every time now. I am glad you showed me a way to create custom zero g-rolls too. Those type of inversions (even in No Limits 2) are difficult to figure out. Well, any type of inline roll. Bumper view is still the best way to view a coaster, as there is very little jitter or camera shaking from side to side. I wish there was a way to eliminate the camera shaking from side to side. Or to minimize it. Great video! It was helpful. Thanks!

I've been working on a seat view smoothing method, which is basically the 4m method with some autocomplete but using 5m long track sections, no banking offset (which means that you have to manually create the heartlining by adjusting the track pieces both when you place them down and after the fact), and going over the coaster 4-6 times (I recommend trying 4 first) with 4 section smooth all. It reduces the work from 4m by maybe about a 3rd to a 4th while producing less jitteriness from seat view. It's a bit inconsistent so far. I've been struggling with Mack launched coasters and S&S freefly track with a regular train on top of it, but inverts, hypers/gigas, and a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter have all turned out really well from using it. In fact, aside from 1 inversion the Euro-fighter I built using this method, being the first time I ever used it, came out perfectly smooth.

I think this method is ideal, because I believe that people who want to use the 4m method should really just be playing No Limits 2 to begin with.
@chanelclothes
@chanelclothes 3 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you have never played NL2, i'd like to see you try to play it and struggle. Its not that easy, the reason people use the 4m method is because it makes your coaster the smoothest. Yes i agree this method is ideal but don't say that people that use 4m method should play NL2 because its nothing compared (:
@MrPatrickbuit
@MrPatrickbuit 3 жыл бұрын
@@chanelclothes NL2 is faster, more efficient and just a better coaster simulation program. If you're gonna spend that much time on your layouts like you would with the 4m method, then just learn to use NL2 with FVD++ and you can make the smoothest coasters in the world in far less time than it takes to do the 4m method. NL2 is so underrated man.
@MrPatrickbuit
@MrPatrickbuit 3 жыл бұрын
@@chanelclothes I personally don't play much Planet Coaster to begin with. Only NL2 and yeah I did struggle. In fact, out of all the people that played it I have to be one of the top 10 least talented NL2 engineers in the world. However, if I could do it, then so could someone else.
@HarryPorpise

@@MrPatrickbuit But there’s something so fun about making coasters in planco that just doesn’t really apply to NoLimits. NoLimits is a software, planco is a game, and the user experience reflects that.
@MrPatrickbuit
@MrPatrickbuit Жыл бұрын
@@HarryPorpise I agree if you treat it as a game. However when you try to turn it into a simulation program, it just gets outperformed by NL2 which is literally as good as a rollercoaster simulation could possibly get.

im using s combo of this to set up my rolls and mTTTn's autoconnect trick to fix any pumping/jitter. it looks really good, even from seat view.this resulted inlike 90% smooth but still some shaking on heartlines. auto connect takes it to 99% smoothness. i tried mtttn method 1st and had trouble, using your way 1st to set up the rolls is a big help

This is awesome! Do you ever build the same way you did here, but after the smoothing you collect 2-3 pieces, delete them and click auto-complete? That’s a great method to get crazy smooth coasters 😄 Love your content btw!

Nice one! Thank you very much for sharing! It works faster than my method and is smooth enough, since you never get a smooth coaster in the actual version of planco and i think that the 4 meter technique is simply a waste of time. You can now put that time into creativity.. thumbs up =)

After the SDC Recreation is done we shall see what is to come. That style is for sure my biggest strength and your right. I need to expand my skill set and get out of that comfort zone. I did a few attempts of this with parks like Time City but most of my parks are always inspired by SDC and Dollywood like you said.
