How to make soft layered chapati.
🌎Ingredients:
🍍4 cups all-purpose flour
🍍1 tsp salt
🍍2 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil)
🍍Warm water (about 1 1/2 cups)
🍍Additional oil for layering and cooking
🌎Instructions:
🚨Prepare the Dough:
🍍In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
🍍Gradually add warm water while mixing until a dough forms.
🍍Add 2 tablespoons of oil and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
🍍Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
🚨Divide and Roll:
🍍After resting, divide the dough into equal-sized balls (about the size of a golf ball).
🍍On a lightly floured surface, roll each ball into a thin circle (about 6-8 inches in diameter).
🚨Layering:
🍍Apply the rolled-out dough circle with a thin layer of oil .Make a cut from the center of the circle to the edge
.🍍Starting from one cut edge, roll the dough into a cone shape.
🍍Press the top of the cone down to form a flat circle.
🍍Repeat with all the dough balls.
🚨Rolling the Cones:
🍍Roll each flattened cone into a circle again, ensuring it is not too thin.
🚨Cooking:
🍍Heat your pan or griddle over medium-high heat.
🍍Place a rolled-out chapati on the hot skillet/ pan
🍍Cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to form.
🍍Flip the chapati and brush with a little oil .
🍍Cook for another 1-2 minutes until both sides are golden brown and cooked through.
🍍Repeat with the remaining dough.
🚨Serve:
Stack the cooked chapatis and cover them with a clean cloth to keep them warm and soft.
Serve with your favorite curry, stew, or dish of choice.
